2 other things… Billy plays small at SF… and frankly, the league does too. By small, I don’t mean short guys, but guard skills (handles and 3P) are prioritized over tweener skills (slash and finish).
Doesn’t feel like a stretch predicting low-minute roulette if we have Kuminga, Patrick and Matas vying primarily for PF minutes. I don’t think Billy would play them in SF tandems all too often.
Matas and Kuminga each spent over 75% of their time at PF. I really just don’t see them sharing the floor successfully.
From AKME perspective? There’s been a lack of rhyme and reason in regards to the on-floor product. If they see Kuminga as an opportunistic asset to grab, they’ll do it, player minutes be damned.
I don’t see a FA road for Chicago, but filling the books with low-minute/overpaid salaries has not netted anything positive yet…

When your coach has consistently lead you to 40 wins almost every season, gotta keep that formula in place.
Part of the appeal of Matas/Giddey is there versatility. Giddey and Coby are already pretty ball dominant. Having another driver, slasher to play with makes a lot of sense if the cost is Vuc.
The Bulls simply are not filled with low minute, high salary guys.
