Lol the whole league always helps the Lakers , including us. They jumped up 20 spots with nothing but cash

Lakers forking up the money to move up in the second round.

There are just times that Jerry needs to give the fans something. It’s not likely that a second rounder pans out to be much, but man, have some ambition and draft one with your pick for the fans versus grabbing cash and moving down.

Tankathon mocked him at 43 and Nbadraft.net at #49.

It's possible that the Bulls traded out of a position to take him.

Watch him go 45. To the Lakers...

Rocco was drafted at 45 and traded to Minnesota.

Bulls should've just kept him, but the team valued at $5.8 billion needed cash considerations instead.

This team is trash because the owner is trash. I wish I could just jump ship to another team because if I could actually do that, I would.

This is not a fair comparison at all. The Sacramento Kings are one of the NBA's original franchises. The Chicago Bulls are the third team from Chicago and the fourth team from Illinois. The Kings have a franchise winning percentage of 0.458 (24th of 30 active teams) while the Bulls are at 0.509 (14th of 30 active teams). The Kings have made the playoffs twice in the last 20 years while the Bulls have made the playoffs 11 times in the past 20 years (all without Michael Jeffrey Jordan) and not counting the recent play-in tourney seasons.

If you're looking for a more apt comparison, the Bulls have been more similar post Jordan to the Rockets. And I would imagine not many people would say that they've been a horrifically run organization in the timeframe. But the Kings? Nah, not at all.

They both have 1 conference final appearance since 1998. And theirs was way more competitive and only lost due to obvious league fixing in game 6. Bulls in their lone ECF didn't even make it to game 6. Sure, we have a few extra playoff cameos over that timeframe, but who cares? Their owner is incompetent too, and you still don't see him selling picks for cash.

Maybe a better comp is Atlanta. But we're the Chicago effing Bulls. We should be like the Lakers East. Not the kings, Hawks, etc.

It’s not a few extra playoff cameos, it’s 9 more times than the Kings.

Been saying the same thing for about 10 years now, my heart is still with the team, but they make me so mad to be a fan at all, my heart just can't get behind any other team still

Lakers essentially trade #55 and cash to move up to #45 with the Bulls, then traded #45 and cash to move up to #36 with the TWolves. #55 and cash got them to move up 19 spots.
AKME got to go

Move down 10 spots to get cash. Maybe AKME figured that whoever they wanted would still be there at #55 anyways. Maybe even a stash pick. Optics look bad though

Most of which were 1st round knockouts where we were better off just having lottery picks instead.

i don't blame you. It's dumb.

I said this on the general board...I know Reinsdorf doesn't have the same amount of money as other owners, but he's rich and I bet he doesn't have to sell off 2nd round picks. There's a limit to what teams can spend in the NBA (cap space). This isn't MLB.

My two cents is I don't think this one is a big deal, but I do think someone like Rocco would be good to develop.

Don't worry, he's going to spend on the cash on a super great shooting coach.

This move, which cost us Zikarsky for very little in return, was an abomination. Pitiful. Just pitiful.

Maybe AKME is working on commission and this was the chance to make some money this summer.

Return to Chicago Bulls
