He seems pretty redundant with Ayo to me.

I'm a fan also. He has all the intangibles you're looking for in a guard, he just hasn't put it all together yet. Don't think he will drop down to us though, hell, we probably won't even keep our pick when it's all said and done.

I think that's the main reason why I'm checked out for this draft, because I think there is a high probability that we're trading this pick, or drafting for another team - I'm not going to get invested in a prospect this draft, knowing that the player isn't likely to be on our team.

You’re probably right about trading the pick. I’m in too deep to pull out, but I know the rug pull is coming.

Comparing Wesley’s freshman season to his comps’ (FG%/3P%/FT%):

DeJounte Murray: .416/.288/.663

Jaden Ivey: .399/.258/.726

Blake Wesley: .404/.303/.657

There’s solid precedence for guards in this mold (raw, athletic, toolsy) to improve their efficiency once they add strength and refinement.

Drafting Wesley would be a bet on grabbing him before he makes that leap.

If we keep our pick and we miss out on Eason/Williams/Duren, I'm all in on drafting high risk high reward pick like Wesley/Harden/Beauchamp/Dieng. Operating over the cap, we won't have many chances at signing high ceiling players. We need to take a shot.

I'm guessing Liddell if we keep the pick. He's got kind of the Grant Williams playing style about him as a stocky/strong 6'7''ish PF with a nice shot and some ability to play small ball center with his shot blocking ability to boot. And it seems like he worked out for the Bulls at some point. His tape doesn't jump off the screen and wow you so it's not a sexy pick, but honestly I have no clue what AKME are going to do and Liddell is kind of an obvious fit amongst players projected available @ 18.

Givony is probably the most reliable draft source.
We're trading this pick.

I mean... I certainly believe that they *want* to trade the pick. Just like they probably wanted to trade Coby at the deadline. It remains to be seen whether they can find value.

AK won’t trade it to trade it. He has a player he wants to drop and if he’s there he picks him or he has a trade target and is waiting for that team to confirm.

Normal draft stuff. Teams holding out for best offers.

Exactly. Does it make sense to trade for Gobert if Mark Williams is suddenly available at 18? I know Williams would be a rookie and would be a long shot to have anything close to a career resembling Gobert, but maybe AKME love him. You never know.

Grant Williams would be a complete nobody on like 20 NBA teams.

He's at best the Celtics 6th best player

If that's the comp then I am unconvinced it warrants a top 20 selection.

I wish I weren't convinced that the Bulls will package that 18th with other assets for a trade. Sam Vecenie over at the Athletic published his 130-page Draft guide PDF.

Practically an essay for each of 75 prospects. Puts every other draft guide on free sites to shame.

You wouldn't be a happy with a player that is the 6th man on a team that went to the nba finals for the 18th pick? I would bet that is a well above average outcome for an 18th pick.

I agree. If someone like Mark Williams drops, or an Ogbaji or Eason, I wouldn't be so quick to trade that pick in a deal for Gobert. Of course there are counter arguments to that too- if you think you have a chance to go to the finals next year with Gobert, you'd make that deal and not think twice. But getting a Mark Williams on a rookie deal, and renewing your core around the Williams, Lonzo, Zach, and maybe Caruso makes sense long term.

I like Jalen Williams quite a lot too- I think he'd help our bench tremendously, and would be primed to take over for Derozan in the near future.

Givony said the Bulls want to trade the pick, but if they can't find a partner he has us taking Malaki Branham.
He has Tari Eason, Jalen Williams, Mark Williams, Ochai all going before 18.

The thing with trading the pick, even for Gobert, or anyone, whoever that other team wants has to really be thereI would buy the idea if it wasn't rumor central time of nothing going on in the season post Finals pre draft. Guys have to provide content in this lull and after the draft again at the opening of free agency. It is all speculation time right now

Even though we don't need another sg, he would be an excellent pick up at 18. I've seen him usually mocked in the 12-15 range.

No way in hell Branham slips that much. That would be a steal.

People here don't think Lavine is available enough or good enough for $30M, they'll love Gordon Hayward.

Rough for Charlotte. Not only do they have to sign Miles to a max contract, they also have to give up a first round pick to do it.

i think hayward is a decent guy to take a flier on if you don't have a better option lined up in free agency, but it doesn't work for us financially at all as far as i can tell
