Melo #14- Can Melo Come Out and Play?

My whole thing is Melo requesting Jimmy and Taj not be traded and yet Marc Stein is saying our chances are dwindling? That does not make any sense to me.

They are saying specifically they don't want Boozer in a S&T. Sure sounds like a compromise position to me. Find a 3rd team in the deal and we are ready to go, assuming Melo wants out.

Mirotic still in the pipeline.

But it wouldn't be worse case, because NY would deal at that point.

That they have already specified they won't take *boozer* in specific in a sign and trade pretty much admits they aren't adverse to all S&Ts and even the Boozer stance may be posturing in the end.

A lot of you guys need to relax. Some of you are making up false stories and in reality its down to the Bulls and Knicks.

BULLS AND KNICKS that's what is going on right now. Melo has not decided and will not until after the holiday. He still has to meet with the Knicks during the weekend.

NBA players are so full of themselves, they dont even realize when they say something that makes the new employer look stupid. This quote screams that DC never could consider in a million years that he'd be an overpay, whereas everyone else is seeing it this way.

Pax has already said it is a cat and mouse game. He knows how these things work. Obviously, he might still fail. But, he does know it is never a one step process. They have to introduce new variables like the Gasol interest in this game.

They wouldn't go to LA to meet Gasol if he was their primary target or a 2nd preference as a FA. Wouldn't you fly him in to Chicago and show off the new practice facility etc.. if he was being targeted like Melo. This is a different plan they are trying to execute.

- Yesterday word started to circulate that Chicago was concerned about its chances and thats why Bulls sending FO guys to la to talk to Gasol today who was their number 2 target after Carmelo If thats the case lakers have really really really LONG odds to land Carmelo as well (Colin "WoW WoW really WoW) Bulls not coming out and saying they are out on Carmelo but that is the vibe Stein is getting from Chicago

- Honsetly felt for that last week that the knicks were strong favorites to keep Carmelo

- Both the rockets and mavs felt good about their chances but the knicks were quietly confident that they would keep Carmelo That he really doesnt want to leave ny for family reason and also legacy reasons as well It would hurt him to leave madison square garden and admit to the world that he couldnt get it done in ny and had to go some where else to get help The knicks believe that they can get him to stay and that Carmelo and Phil Jackson have "quote connected on some level"

- houston and dallas have compelling cases but they are in the West and East better shot to win but Carmelo has no reservations about playing for Chicago

- lakers want to keep Pau Gasol and they can pay him the most BUT the interest from all the contending teams is such that they wont be able to keep him Has real interest in okc and san antonio Would have to take a pay cut to do that BUT Pau Gasol wants to win Wants to compete at the highest level with the best teams in the West durant and westbrook recruited Gasol recently and that resonated with him spurs have lot of foreign players that he knows well and Gasol is giving REAL thought to take a low dollar offer to win and how scary if Gasol to either of those teams on 5 mil to join forces with them

it's a holiday for god's sakes I think Melo wants to enjoy some time off after his cross country trip as much as anyone
