The only player in the draft that played defense the Bulls traded for cash. Most of the NBA doesn't play good D. Lets not try to make this out to be a Bulls issue.

Golden State won a championship with a cabinet full of two-way players. Maybe the rest of the league is doing it wrong.

No they won because they could outshout anyone in the league.

One thing that's for certain, is that Isaiah Canaan is possibly the best (lateral-movement) defender on our team.

This collection of young talent is going to be TERRIBLE at defense, even in their primes.

Coupled with our coach, I feel like we are going to devolve into such a terrible defense team.

For a few years now Bulls fans having been talking about the infamous "lottery protected Sacramento Kings pick". Well folks it just became a second rd pick tonight and it was flipped for 'cash considerations'.

Came back to hopefully read Wade will follow Butler.

Damn it. Only positive I thought is no longer happening.

Not asking for the sky from him but with his size and length, i hope he can just focus on playing locked down defense on opponents' PGs and im cool with it.

Let the others do the damage whem it comes to offense.

Bulls are going to be bad for a long time. Strap in. This is what we wanted.

And to your question, maybe, but they aren't supposed to be a big three.

This FO BETTER NOT go out and get some free agents that contribute or overpay for anyone.

If they do that, then they legit need therapy.

You have a roster that sucks. Maintain the course now.

Thibs got Thibs fired.

And his recent coaching record isn't exactly earning him hall of fame votes.

The Bulls are supposed to lose a lot of games next year. You are worried about who will play defense? :0 :dontknow:

GarPax finally figured out to drive the tank. As i said on the general board i'd be more optimistic about the deal if Zach hadn't tore his ACL but im thankful we finally have a direction now.

Exactly how I feel as well. It was clear that Jimmy's value around the league isn't what we wanted it to be, so I'm definitely okay with LaVine, Dunn, and #7. I was hoping that we'd take Dennis Smith at 7, but I'm also completely okay with Lauri.

I hate that we keep going after one-way players, but at least the one-way players we picked up have the potential to be elite at the one thing they do. Dunn is probably already a top 10 PG defender and trending up, LaVine is an excellent shooter in a variety of scenarios, and Lauri projects to be elite in this area as well.

What we had before this trade was a bunch of young guys who were average or below average at basically everything (except maybe Denzel's three point shooting). Now we have pieces and palatable skills that we can start to look at as building blocks. I don't know if any of these dudes will be even #2 guys on championship teams, but they certainly all have much higher ceilings than anyone else on our current roster.

So how many PG do we have on the team now?

Rondo
Dunn
Grant
Payne
Canaan
?

I expect MCW gone.

So what's going to happen with Rondo? do we let him go as well?

If Dunn can't beat Grant or Payne for the starting PG spot, then he's basically garbage.

Canaan I think will stick around, his cheap, and he did well defensively in the playoff.

Well given the moves, all I can say is hope that Rondo, Lopez and Wade are used to add bad salary and picks, cause I don't really see the point of "cap flexibility."

Wade for C. Parsons and 2019 1st.

Rondo for Turner and two top-10 protected 1sts.

R. Lopez for Deng + asset.

Outside of being a team cheerleader, Canaan doesn't serve much of a purpose. He earned a second look at a contending team looking for depth with his audition in the playoffs. I hope the Bulls let him go for HIS sake.

Rondo is tricky. I'm not sure where his head is at on this trade. Technically he won out in the Jimmy/Wade feud. Management took the side of the youth (whatever that consists of) and Rondo might consider sticking around to help these guys grow (considering that no team in the league would offer him a multi-year deal). Hell, he might even get a coaching/FO job out of it. Who the hell knows anymore.

Maybe Grant serves better as a combo SG. He sure was awful at ball handling and passing. Maybe he can play alongside Dunn until Zach is 100% to see how the fit is.

Payne will get a second look in Summer League and maybe more time in the G-League. With Dunn here, they probably don't have much of a spot for Payne outside of a backup PG. If Rondo is still here, Payne really has no place on this team. Great tank commander though.

I think development really should focus on Dunn. He's still the biggest unknown in all of this.

Guys who I want to see get a lot of minutes next year in order for me to watch Bulls again:
1. Dunn
2. Markkanen
3. Valentine

Bobby, I think we've seen him through already. He should be trade chips to package with either Wade or Lopez if we can get anything valuable.

I don't want to see Grant getting more minutes than Dunn at PG. Cam Payne I don't care.... looking like Marquis Teague 2.0 so far. Can't imagine we basically gave up Gary Harris, Jusuf Nurkic, and Taj Gibson for him.

What??????
That is a terrible return.
I don't know what to say. It will be really hard to cheer for the team this year. Wade is staying and garpax are still on.

The pick swap just ****** it all up.

#16 shouldn't of even been on the table.

They got Jimmy & still kept their 1st? Holy hell...
