Side point:

I think Knick fans are being too nice to Melo.

Granted it was Dolan who made the move, but for Melo to have the Knicks gut their roster to trade for him so he could get max money, when he could have just signed as a FA that summer to a much better Knicks for a little less money, essentially choosing money over a chance to really compete... And then now to complain the Knicks are a bad team and suggest he might take less money to play for a better team elsewhere, especially a rival in the Bulls, I would expect Knick fans to be all over Melo. I am a little disappointed in them really. I guess they should be more mad with Dolan I suppose, but still.

No it doesnt. They can amnesty Boozer and send the unguaranteeds and Dunleavy and such and end up at around 18-20 mil for Melo's first year.

They'd have to include Butler and Snell to get to 18 million, and the only way they can get to 20 is to include Taj.

As far as I know, a Boozer amnesty nets us 11 mil or so. Unguaranteeds and Dunleavy add up to 7. Perhaps I am not accounting for taking on Randolph though when it comes to the amnesty cap part.

You have to subtract cap holds at 507k each. Then add in Dougie and Randolph's salary.

Since when is "turning the other cheek" dramatic?

It's melodramatic to use a bible quote in his situation, he's being paid millions to play a game and he's famous and beloved by millions of people.

Jesus never concerned himself with people such as that

But people such as that do concern themselves with Jesus. Just because he's rich he shouldn't quote applicable bible verses?

I'm not saying he shouldn't I'm just saying it seemed melodramatic in this particular context. just to draw the allusion between anything Lin is experiencing and Jesus' Sermon on the Mount, is melodramatic.

speaking of applicable bible verses... Mark 10:23 Jesus looked around and said to his disciples, "How hard it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God!"

Melo didn't force the knicks to trade for him. He had no real preference between NY and Brooklyn.

Houston was always a threat. Hell, I even have them in front of Chicago. Hope I'm wrong of course.

Why? They are just doing their job. I don't think it nets them a championship but just like ole trader bob in Portland they work every angle. One team wins there are different philosophy's to win ( spurs vs heat) but they make a run nothing to hate. Honestly if Rose had not got injured a second time and came back this year as we all hope he does this is a non conversation.

The Rockets have zero chance.

It's between the Bulls and the Knicks.

Nobody wants to live in Houston, the weather is somehow worse than Chicago, and the city itself sucks. You KNOW LaLa doesn't want to go there, she can kiss her career goodbye.

Plus East vs West, he's not stupid. Bulls are a better fit.

The Bulls need to get him his money. A stacked Rockets team can compete just as well as the Bulls with Melo

Can confirm. Most of us were brought here for reasons outside of our control (parents, marriage, hurricanes, etc...).

The meeting was supposed to be short, and yet they're stil in it. THat's a telltale sign to me

Dude are you serious, or just playing dumb here? Melo's meeting with the Bulls lasted 9 hours. 9 HOURS!

I just want to know now. Can't wait until this is over. All of this tweeting "journalism", and reading too much into nonsense.

Let's not start talking about cities shall we? Let's be reasonable men and women.
