I think I misunderstood. Rachel Nichol's said we'll hear more from MJ later, but then they just played the clip from his speech. I'm guessing that's all she meant.

At @7:15? when he was talking about the time when Kobe replied to him saying "laughing my ass off" after MJ told Kobe he was thinking about baseball at the age of 12?

It was censored on TV, not sure why.

"He sent me a text saying laughing my ass off." Not sure why that was censored. It wasn't censored on MSNBC.

Disagree.

There was a sentiment by some that Jimmy was wrong for what he said, not only wrong for his delivery.

I agree, but the Clippers and Lakers have 2 superstars whereas the Bucks have 1. So most assume they would be similar to the Warriors rolling over the East.

People are overlooking Middleton. He's been better than Paul George.

Bucks are being over looked due to perception, not what's actually happening on the court.

It's definitely a perception thing but it's also what happened last year vs Toronto thing.

Exactly, more than a few thought he was a cancer and the issue. Nothing about "airing dirty laundry" from that crowd.
KC: Do you still think you're a championship-caliber team?
Gar: I never said that and correct me if I'm wrong.
KC: You were asked that question at the news conference announcing Thibodeau's dismissal and you answered yes

Can someone please explain to me how & why Fultz & to a lesser extent Ball were taken as top picks? I didn’t watch much of either during during their stints in college, but I know what Balls translatable strengths were

But Fultz, wow. What were people expecting? Did he not look like this in school? It’s shocking how mediocre he is for a consensus #1 pick

this is essentially fultz's rookie season. he's 21

both players have had shot issues as pros that they didn't in college

know how 50/40/90 is considered the gold standard for shooters? middleton is currently at 51/44/90. those having achieved it:

nash (4 times)
bird (2)
price
miller
dirk
KD
curry
brogdon
delle donne

only bird, dirk, KD and curry have done it while scoring 20.0 ppg or more. middleton is at 20.7

I really wouldn't be comparing status with past eras. The stat inflation is real. The quick whistles on the perimeter means players have a ton of space there as compared to in the past, which is enhanced by no whistles for moving screens or picks on the edge.

Meanwhile, Middleton is a very good player (and George is having an awful season for him, though that kind of makes sense given role dynamics and him playing a lot at the 2)... but, as was evident in the all-star game, he's not first tier.

Were Kyrie Irving not injured, he'd have a shot of being there (despite being on a surprisingly semi-dysfunctional Nets team), at .48, .39 (rounding down) and .92 (27.4 ppg). And Devin Booker is at .49, .36, .92... a hot streak from him from 3 gets him to 50/40/90 (26.3 ppg). Unlike Middleton, those two are number one options on their teams.

At just under 20 ppg, you have Gordon Hayward, injuries and all, at .51, .38, .87. Chris Paul is at .49, .37 and .90 (rounding up) and it wouldn't be a shock if he gets hot from 3 towards the end (which would also push his overall FG% up).

And at a low double-digits ppg, Seth Curry is at .48, .43, and .88.

Jimmy was a called a cancer, someone who can't get along, a trobulemaker, bad teammate and so on. You also couldn't win with him and he's not worth the supermax. People double downed on that with the bad situations in Minny and Philly. Two places that traded for him but wouldn't pay him.

Now he went to a real org, with real structure, a real FO, a real HC and a real culture. And the dude is leading them to HCA in the playoffs. That's a real star. Instead of the clowns who traded him and wouldn't pay him.

Middleton has been great this season and he seems to be emerging as Robin to Giannis' Batman. The Bucks have been amazing and are the favorites in the East but I can see why not everyone is talking them up as the title favorites. First is because they are a relatively unproven playoff team, with their deepest run being last year against the eventual champs. Second, the supporting cast behind Giannis and Middleton are a little iffy. Bledsoe and Hill are hit and miss in the playoffs, and no one else on the team can create a shot. Lastly, I feel like Giannis' lack of go to move can be a detriment to them in the playoffs. We all saw how he was slowed down by Kawhi and the Raptors last year, and to a lesser extent, in the ASG this year where he didn't have much impact late in the game.

That said, I'm rooting for the Bucks to win because I'm a huge fan of Giannis.
