He won't make it, but he's having a fine year, averaging 19/8/8 per game. He remains the best player on the Heat. They collapsed when he was out of the lineup, going 3-8 during that stretch.

Yeah, he’s slowly starting to look really good again, but the efficiency is meh and he missed almost half their games. No question Jimmy at 100% is their best player, I‘d give it to Bam so far though. He’s been great.

The Brooklyn Nets are playing defense lately. If they can continue to do so and stay healthy while Kyrie humbles himself to James Harden, I can see them winning it all.

Zach has improved in every season in which he has been healthy. He's an emerging stud and yet many still want to call him a bad play and claim he needs to be traded.

he arguably did not improve last season. but he's made up for it this season!

There is no way either would make the team.

There are players in the east having arguably better seasons and their teams have better records (like Lavine, Randle, Young etc).

coaches might reward jimmy for taking his team to the finals (which obviously didn't get factored into the last all-star voting)

Jamal Murray with 50 points, 21-25 FG, 8-10 3pt, and zero free throws vs the Cavs.

Norman Powell really is in a perfect spot right now. Former second-rounder who has already won a title, currently having his best season at age 27 and is about to hit free agency in a year where many teams that could really use his skillset have tons of capspace they wanted to use for guys who are already off the market. That man is going to get paid. He's really good, but he's almost certainly going to get overpaid.

I also love the "Let me shoot some phone video of my TV screen" quality, where you can't tell which pixel is Edwards. You know it's an all-time dunk when you just have to get it on Twitter ASAP.

Horrible call by the announcer though. I bet he wants that one back. "Anthony Edwards... that time, he does finish!" And "Put that on a poster!" They'll be replaying this one for 15 years and each time that guy hears himself dropping the ball. Got to have your catchphrases ready.

The one mistake that will never happen to Stacey. He’ll be annoying for 99.9% of the time, but he’s ready for moments like this.

Indeed. This is probably his finest hour. Just keeps relentlessly piling on Sampson and mocking him. THAT's how it's supposed to be done.

BTW, love how it's Garrett Temple in this clip defending Zach.

That dunk is naturally one of the best ever (Zach's doesn't come close) but I just like King's delivery a lot more in the Sampson dunk, although he does recycle some of his material there. It really sounds like he's trying to embarrass Sampson as much as possible, which is always great - particulary when it's a complete nobody we're talking about.

Note that the Sampson call is a great example of the chemistry between Funk and Stacey - Neil knew when to shut up and let King shine. That call couldn't happen today, you'd hear Amin giggling in the background or desperately trying to get his own joke in.

Neil and Stacey were an odd couple. Not a fan of Neil, but yes Neil know when to give Stacey his time.

Btw I knew the East was gonna blow again.

I say it every year — wish Silver killed conference playoffs. It’s unfair for both reasons; mediocre .500 (even sub-500) East teams keep overachieving and making post-seasons as 4-8 seeds. Now with the play-in, even scrubbier teams have a chance to out-scrub.

If the Kings and Pelicans were East, they would never sniff another top-5 pick. Zion would’ve never been a Pelican, because AD would’ve been a perennial 6-seed in the East.

Meanwhile you’ve got a good chance Luka, Zion, Morant or possibly Curry sit at home... so we can we watch Randle and Sabonis go at it, along with Justin Holiday and Elfrid Payton. Nothing against these teams doing well, but the conferences are a dead-end cycle.

I’d rather the Bulls get their fair pick (8-12) then overachieve with a #8 seed, while better teams out West get a lotto draw.

He improved last year but his efficiency was not where it needed to be. Of course, Boylen screwed up a lot of players and things last season.

I've said it many times on this board, Zach needed to get back to his mid range game and be able to have that in his arsenal because just choosing the 3 or to the rim was not efficient.

The ball movement and rhythm of the offense under Donovan is great to see.

Houston literally guaranteed his contract yesterday. Why do this now? Either way, we could actually use him.
