To hear that actually breaks my heart a little. Noah is perhaps my favorite player in the whole league.

If they got a replacement C yes, but that's the problem IMO, I don't see us getting one. The Bulls don't want to deal him, but they know to get LMA that is what Portland wants. So they are seeing if they can get a C if they deal Jo.

In the end I see someone like Dallas or Houston getting LMA
with what assets?

For Houston if they can get Dwight I could see them trade Asik to Portland in part of the deal for Dallas.

Please don't happen.

Dallas doesn't have any assets to trade for him. All they have is cap space.

Lakers don't have the assets either. Portland's gonna trade LMA for over-the-hill Gasol or near-retirement Nash or recovering-from-achilles-surgery Kobe?

I see Houston as the biggest threat.

Me too. It would feel weird not having noah on the team.

Man I hope if they do a trade we can keep noah. Noah and rose are the only untouchables. I love jimmy, but those two I would think are the pillars for this team.

Noah and Butler for Aldridge?

Seems kinda lateral in a vacuum. Could a Boozer swap also be in order?

...And Butler's contract is just so good. I can't help but think you have to do better in a trade.

I also wonder if the phrase "the Bulls continue to rebuff attempts by the shared agency of Rose and LaMarcus Aldridge to bring the Trail Blazers' All-Star forward to Chicago." is kind of misleading. It almost seems like the Bulls are refusing to discuss bringing in Aldridge when I think they're listening, but they don't like Portland's initial asking price. And that seems perfectly normal, since that's what you do in trade negotiations. Wouldn't be surprised if the Bulls' counteroffer was something laughable like Boozer for Aldridge straight up.
"And if Rose comes back and is 80% of himself, the Bulls become a pain in the ass" -Zach Lowe

Still rooting for wins, but losses aren't the worst thing in the world. Perhaps the optimal strategy is hoping the Blackhawks are on at the same time.

Deng, Kirk for Eric Gordon, Robin Lopez.

Robin Lopez, Taj, CHA pick, 2015 1st-rounder for LMA? Close at all?

From what I hear they are really trying for LMA hard and have a lot of things they are looking at. These talks have been going on for months now and I think the Bulls finally realize that Portland is no budging from Jo

The Bulls are watching this Houston thing closely with Howard. If Dwight goes there I think we try and get Asik, though I think it will be tough. A lot of teams will be going after him.

Not to start, but if I am the Bulls I am getting Leonard or Withey back in any LMA trade to be our back up C

Portland wants a defensive C better than Lopez so I doubt it.

Robin Lopez is available, and we have the means to get him. And he's 25. And we could always use taj at center versus most teams. Or Aldridge in spurts. The problem is if we acquire Lopez for the exception or for Hamilton and cash, we take on extra salary. But for me, I think I'd consider Noah and Hamilton out, Aldridge and Lopez in. In fact, I may give up a first round pick to make that whole thing go down properly. I just think Noah will always have lingering health issues, and he takes so long to get back on his game after he misses time.

Perhaps not necessarily if they're getting a defensive PF. Gibson-Lopez would be a pretty solid remodeled two-way frontcourt.

It doesn't mean that's what Portland is asking for.

5 Days Ago:

At issue is the Trail Blazers want a center — at least — in return, and the Bulls won't part with Joakim Noah. In this hypothetical, because no terms have been discussed, the Trail Blazers also likely would ask for Jimmy Butler and/or the Bulls' first-round pick from Charlotte, which could be fully unprotected in 2016.

Today
http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/ba ... 8253.story
Sources said the Bulls have been unwilling to discuss a deal of Joakim Noah and Jimmy Butler for Aldridge.

He's acting as if Portland asked for that and the Bulls in turn, were "unwilling" to discuss it.

KC's trolling of Bulls fans is slightly more nuanced than Friedell's, but he's probably just as much of a goof.

This is why you give up Noah if you really want LMA. Aldridge is going to be dealt and Asik and pieces is something I can see Portland doing. Portland really wants Jo and I don't see any team beating an Noah offer.

Noah is too much for Aldridge.

No way in hell I'm trading the anchor of our defense and our emotional leader for a PF who basically scores with average efficiency and who is a very weak rebounder.

If Houston gets Dwight maybe the Bulls needs to get a bit creative talk to Houston to work on a three way trade with something like Asik to the Blazers, LMA to the Bulls, and Deng to Houston maybe something like that assuming if Houston gets Dwight Howard of course. But again this is Moray we are talking about lol.

Edit: I forgot Houston will probably want LMA for themselves so nevermind about that idea! LOL

Who is going to be that center?

Free agent centers next year
Andrew Bogut
Marcin Gortat
Pau Gasol
Zach Randolph (LMA play C)
Spencer Hawes
Emeka Okafor

Guys that could be traded for...Nene, Varejoa

2015 free agents
Tyson Chandler
Asik
Hibbert
DeAndre Jordan
Perkins

Someone would deff come here with Rose an LMA as our 2 best players
DENG HE SUCKS!!!!

Red nailed it perfectly. The Trailblazers haven't necessarily asked for Noah and Butler. KC mislead the hell out of everybody by injecting his own speculation into the equation, and worded it poorly.

I'd love to do a deal without Noah involved for Aldridge, but that's just not realistic. Portland isn't about to accept a deal centered around Luol Deng and picks unless Deng is being shipped somewhere else for a player Portland covets.

Honestly, people need to stop overrating Noah. Now is our chance to get the much coveted "2nd option" 20-10 big man and we're scoffing at deals which include Joakim??

This isn't fantasy land, it's real life. You have to give up big assets to get them back. Noah is easier to replace than Aldridge and that's the bottom line.
