I have a theory on how the Bulls presentation went and why Taj was involved.

Joakim demands Taj be at the meeting and also demands Taj not be traded. Joakim uses this fact to explain to Melo "look at how much of a family we are here...etc etc." Gives Melo an ultimatum. Join us for what we can offer, while we keep Taj and Jimmy, or don't come at all.

I"m just picturing Noah running around LAX like a mad man telling people that Melo is going back to the Knicks. Then John Johnny's cousin's nephew texting KC the good news for another stellar article in the Tribune.

He probably ends up taking the supermax, give phil a year and then demand a trade when they strike out next year.

Its really unprofessional of KC to write that up based on an internet rumor. If he didnt get solid confirmation on that he should lose his damn job.

say what you will about the guy, but he is as professional as they come. This must be true.

Noah is going to be pissed off when this is all said and done and Pau and Melo are in NY.

Don't worry. He will call them Hollywood as hell. Yeah. That'll show them.

We owe Noah a thunderous standing ovation on opening night. He's a leader in every sense.

KC said Bulls won't trade Deng for Bynum...

Then they actually did... KC lost his trust with me after that one.

Really? Because it looks like he is citing "several people". Who the **** is that? From the sound of it he caught wind of this rumor and threw it in there. If so he should have made it clear its just an unconfirmed rumor, if it is confirmed he should explicitly say so.

Perhaps. But if that were the plan then Melo should've just opted in for one more year, seen if New York could get something done in 2015 free agency, and if not just bolted then. Phil will have no obligation to move him next season after giving him $130 million. And if he does trade Melo, it could be to someplace he doesn't wanna go. Melo has his freedom and his chance now.

did Flip piss Gar off when he hung up the phone after Gar proposed the laughable offer of Taj+Snell?

thats gotta be what happened

i think because of how much minnesota wants. acquiring melo allowed us to keep our core. not looking forward to gutting the roster for love.

why not? might aswell...if we dont get melo we aint winning anything with this current group

Well, yes and no. Even without melo we move forward into the new season with however we choose to fill out our roster with more new additions than we have had since 2010 We are free of the shackles of boozer. We have mirotic ready, and have just pulled the trigger and trading up for mcdermott. We are in good shape.

Alternatively, I think our best shot is with love, like you said. Unfortunately, I'm not into giving up both of taj/mirotic and giving away whatever future draft picks we have. If we lose butler in a trade, we have no ready replacement at the 2. There are a lot more considerations in a possible trade to minnesota than with melo.

Hopefully melo just comes here.

Not really. He is very pro org. I found it extremely unprofessional to sit on that Pax choking VDN story.
