I agree that we can now look at punting our 2021 cap space to 2022. Not sure who will fit the dumpable allstar - likely an old guy like Horford or an injury reclamation project like Wall/Boogey.

The only issue with punting on third down to 2022 cap space is we wouldn't be the only team smart enough to see that the 2021 FA market is quickly drying up with Giannis and Paul George extending, Hayward signing and likely others to get extensions.

I would like to see what other teams have been aiming at 2021 and guess how many of them want to stay on that course or make a shift as suggested for the Bulls. Mostly I'd like to see the Bulls try anyway, to take the route that few if any want to try, don't just follow the crowd. Not that I know what will or won't work but if you get in a long line the harder it is to get ahead of everybody in it.

Right now I'm almost game for Tobias Harris if we get something else back in return. Maybe Thybulle or Korkmaz. That would set up where you go.
I would like to see if ATL is willing to deal anybody from Reddish, Hunter, Huerter who would seem to be stuck behind the high priced FAs they just signed
MEM has Allen, Brooks, Clarke o the bench and the injured Winslow who might not play
Do the Knicks see Kevin Knox as someone they want
MINN has Culver and Laymen pretty well buried on the bench
NOP have Nickeil Alexander-Walker and Josh Hart who play behind big contracts
ORL has Mo Bamba who could develop and an injured Jonathon Issac

I think I would consider trading Porter, Felicio, Arci, Kornet, Hutchison to teams still on the 2021 cap space path, Young, Satoransky, Valentine maybe even Markkanen and Carter if they bring enough back to whoever sees them as a piece to fill a spot. Then say you get Harris, you fill in the bench with any of the guys on that list or others who might have a year or two or option for a third who haven't gotten much playing time and mix them in around Harris, Lavine, White, Gafford, Williams,Temple and take a year of seeing who you've got, who stays and who goes. You've still got the low priced guys so you have room to resign Lavine in 2 years or if some of them really come on you can let Zach go in a S&T.

Well thought out, and reading between the lines I realize every player listed isn't moved. Some are players some are fillers.

Either way I feel that the current roster at best can scrape 8th place.

Thumbs down to all these proposals.

Not giving up Coby in any package unless a younger star or top-10 FRP is coming back. Taking the gamble on his development.

Miles is an interesting player that I need to review more. I was higher on him at draft as a mid first, but after a few viewings, my hunch is his court awareness is bad, and despite being a monster athlete, he doesn't really do much with it on the defensive end. Also, he doesn't shoot well. I'm not high on Lauri, but I also still think Lauri needs to take and make more 3Ps before you deal him.

Are folks rooting for a good game (supporting more $ for Lauri) or a bad game making the FO think twice about anything more than $12M/yr?

Here is the frame work of a potential deal. Not sure what people think about Andre Drummond, but the guy is a monster rebounding the basketball and has the frame to set devastating screens.

Chicago Receives:
John Collins & Cam Reddish

Atlanta Receives:
WCJ, Markkanen, 2021 1st (top 5 protected), & asset from 3rd team

3rd Team:
OPJ

Bulls use their cap space to sign Andre Drummond who can solve the Bulls rebounding issues. Atlanta seems reluctant to pay Collins the max, so they can swap him and Markkanen (who will cost less). Bulls take a flyer on Reddish, giving the Bulls 3 solid wings with good size.

Coby White / Ryan Arcidiacano / Devon Dotson
Zach LaVine / Cam Reddish
Patrick Williams / Chandler Hutchison / Denzel Valentine
John Collins / Thaddeus Young
Andre Drummond / Daniel Gafford

Saw this one - I might do that, but not a huge KAT fan. I love Rubio and like Davis.

Bulls Receive: Karl-Anthony Towns, Ricky Rubio, Ed Davis, Jaylen Nowell

Timberwolves Receive: Wendell Carter Jr., Lauri Markkanen, Otto Porter Jr., Chandler Hutchison, 2021 1st Round Pick, 2023 1st Round Pick

I can’t imagine anyone, including Morey, would move Simmons for Harden given all that we know from this week.

KAT, Lavine, Coby, and Williams make for a decent start towards something with potential. KAT is one of the rare centers that is actually worth paying a max. The big question is can you play the salary cap to get a big contract in before you have to give Lavine his next contract? The Bulls need to understand they're on the clock with Lavine on a good deal relative to his next contract.

Otto Porter and Thad Young for Garry Harris, Will Barton and 2 round pick. Barton wants to be starter, Harris is still good defender but in offensive slump. Deal that balanced both rosters. Nuggets need bigger defenders and shooters on wing, Bulls free forward spot for PWill and get scoring help and defense on perimetre. Dunn and Shaq with much better scoring ability.

Sure I take that.

Not sure it balances DEN. They really need 3D wings, and you're taking away all of them for guys who share positions with MPJ and Millsap.

Gerald Green is going to be available, id live to grab him.. Another athletic freak with a good 3 ball, yeah on the downward part of his career, but I've always liked him.

Denver drafted high upside kidd combo guard RJ Hampton who is playing good in rotation in preseason and PJ Dozier is named Mvp of training camp from coach Malone. I believe that Nuggets wants to ship off Harris and Barton said he is not 6 man anymore only starter. They lost Jerami Grant,Torey Craig their best wing defenders for guys like Lebron,Kawhi,Kd and in terms of opportunity to make that up Porter is perfect win now veteran while maintaining cap flexibility. Milsap is on Young's path to become washed, J.Green is more bench piece and other Porter Jr. while being Kd-esque on offensive end is maybe worst wing defender in entire Nba. I wouldnt say, this is impossible trade, counting Ak and Conelly connections in Denver.

I'd do this deal in a heartbeat because this solves the Bulls 2 biggest need right now which is a playmaker and a superstar. KAT has his flaws but he's still a a superstar and he'll be able to attract another star to play for the Bulls. A core of KAT, Zach, Coby and Williams plus solid vets in Rubio, Davis, Young and Sato could make some noise in the east. We'd need to find a 3nD PF to pair with KAT or develop Williams in to one.

Utah Jazz center Rudy Gobert has agreed to a five-year, $205M extension,
@ESPN_MacMahon
reports. Jazz’s two cornerstones — Gobert and Donovan Mitchell — are now under contract on long term deals.
