Based on setting picks alone, I would draft McGary. While he struggles from the free throw line, he does show an improved mid-range jumper as the season went along. I like him and Dieng (should be an intriguing match-up). This draft is weak in star players but is loaded in cheap value role-players!

Lazy comparison. White guy who is left handed must mean he's like Lee. Lee was a guy who wanted to go around players and use his athleticism to do it, McGary is a guy that wants to get to the rim and finish.

As a Michigan fan, I'm glad McGary's figuring it out, but it also means he's more likely to leave this year and I was really hoping he'd stay a year.

On a team like Chicago, it would be interesting to see what McGary would do because he's not a great defender and is prone to the types of lapses defensively that drives Thibs nuts. On the other hand, he'd instantly be Chicago's best pick and roll threat offensively (Boozer is more pick and pop) and if he came here, he and Taj is a lot of energy off the bench. At 19 or so, I'm taking him over Dieng or Whithey because I think McGary has the higher ceiling, fits the roster better in terms of versatility, and he's younger than both by a few years. The thing is, with how bad this draft and how well McGary will measure, I see him going earlier than that.

That's actually not a bad comparison, if we're going to stick to comparing him to white players. A rich man's McBob is a pretty good player. He's a lot more physical I think than McRoberts though. Either way McGary has played himself into being a Top 5-10 pick. If Michigan wins it all, he'll be the tournament MVP.

You know whose NBA tournament he reminds me of - Tyrus Thomas. A guy who comes out of nowhere and dominates with physical abilities. But does he have the skill and brain to back it up in the NBA?

McGary has a much better feel for the game than Tyrus does right now. McGary has a higher floor than most prospects in this draft. Tyrus was a boom/bust player. Tyrus also lacked the motor McGary has.

Humphries averaged 14/11 last year. Depending on how much "more skilled," that would pretty much be an All-Star PF, which would be fine with me.

The one center I would love for the Bulls to pursue is Alex Len. Bulls will have to climb up in order to draft him.

We don't want Len. For a 7 footer he is far too weak and shies away from contact unlike really any other center I saw this year. If any of you know the reference, Adam Woodbury of Iowa was able to hold his own against him, and Woodbury is a weakish freshman. As such, he tries to be more of a finesse guy and jumpshooter, but he doesn't make enough shots to justify that style of play. Also not much of a rebounder.

He's tall and athletic, that's about it. Nothing to see here.

I agree. McCollum does a lot of things well and would be a really good guy off the bench for us. I'm not sure I'd be super confident banking on starting him long-term though, merely because he's 6'3".

Len isn't soft.

Only issues are fouling, conditioning, and Maryland's guard play.

i like his combination of frame, length and skill. he's just scratching the surface. needs to get stronger in the lower body. nothing spectacular, but he could be starting caliber center with 2 way potential.
not sure i'd trade up for him though. i still think he's a top 10 talent and there aren't too many players in the top 10 i'd trade up for. the good value in this draft starts in the teens.

I agree. Adams is just has that natural toughness you want out of your center on top of his elite athleticism. I really hope either he or Goodwin drops to us.

I think Reggie Bullock is a better candidate to be our next Jimmy Butler. He would come in with above average defense and three point shooting ability. Plus he's 6'7. Next year he can be our backup SG or SF while Jimmy starts.

He looks bigger than 6'3 (maybe due to having a short neck) and he has a body frame of a SG. If he can bulk up, he could possibly start in the league.
