I prefer Kira Lewis Jr. over Tyrell Terry.
Tyrell Terry is actually 6'1.5 and 19.9 years old.
Kira Lewis Jr is 6'2.5 and 19.4 years old.
Kira Lewis Jr looks like the better player at the moment and blew up at the end of the season.
With that said, this draft looks deep and I would look to acquire another pick later in the 1st Round if possible.
Wow you might be right about this kid. He's fast, can shoot, good handles, good on ball defender. The kicker is he looks highly-skilled around the basket. Has the Euro-step
Tyrell Terry looks like a Seth Curry 2.0. Ridiculous shooting potential but many flaws in his game. Prospects like this go #20-#40 usually.
Personally not something we need but if he drops and we have an early 2nd then sure lets take him.
Having spent some time studying Lewis and Terry, I am now even more confused about how players are ranked and what the Bulls should do at 4. It seems like all of the PG prospects have one or two big plusses and one or more deficiencies that they will need to improve, and that the only difference between Ball, Hayes and Hali - who are projected for the top 10 - and Lewis and Terry - who are projected 10-20 - is a few inches of height and wingspan.
Here are my crib notes as I think about the crop of PGs:
Ball: plus attributes - passing and age; holes - shooting, defense
Hayes: plus attributes - overall skillset and age; hole - are the skills enough to overcome his average athleticism
Hali: plus attributes - plug and play 3nD; hole - can't create on his own and not likely to develop into a lead guard
Lewis: plus attributes - speed and age; holes - frame and can he develop as a shooter/passer
Terry: plus attributes - shooting, bbiq; holes - frame and can he develop as a passer
I will say that I am quite impressed with both Lewis and Terry. All the points made about Lewis are true, and I think that Terry might be Curry-like, plus he has the best defensive stats of all the college PGs even though he is Trae Young size. He's hard-nosed on defense, is a leader (led his MN HS to three state titles) and reportedly "set a record" on a BBIQ test administered by several teams.
Maybe trade down with NYK for 8, 27 and next year's Mavs pick? Take Vassell at 8. Then trade Lauri to PHX for 10, and trade 10 and 44 to Boston for 14, 26 and 30? Take Lewis at 14. Use 26, 27 and 30 to draft Lauri replacements - PFs who can contribute without being an offensive focus. I dunno. Don't mean to sidetrack the discussion by introducing trades, but I am starting to think that the best plan would be to trade down - it's just hard because, as others have noted, there are not a lot of teams with multiple picks.
