I am really feeling that we need to make major moves (plural) or be sellers. This team is not one move away. Brainstorming how we can maybe get Christian Wood and Jerami Grant and roll out a starting lineup of:

Wood
Grant
Williams
Lavine
Sato

Would Detroit do Markannen/White/#1? Would Houston do Wendell/Felicio (filler)/Hutch/#1? Would it have to be 2 #1s for each? We could either mortgage all future picks or get one from trading Thad. If the answer to all that is no (or to anything else that is major upgrades), I’m on team trade everyone but Zach and PatWill.

So you guys want to trade off all of our assets for two guys who were available in free agency just last year?

Lauri Markkanen for Marvin Bagley straight.
Lauri Markkanen for Knox (8 pick) and Rivers.
Lauri Markkanen and Felicio for Rudy Gay.
Lauri Markkanen and Hutchinson for Willy Cauley Stein and Josh Richardson.
Lauri Markkanen for Jeremy Lamb and Sampson.
Lauri Markkanen for Jalen Smith.
Please Ak trade Markkanen and get Zach some help. We are having future Mvp in our hands waisting his prime with this non rebounding big not worth money in free agency. Do it asap.

Two guys who have showed near-allstar level play on very reasonable contracts that could still give us the ability to land a 3rd MAX star and contend, then yeah. I'll grant you our pick(s) are assets, but nobody should think that Lauri or White aren't replaceable talents.

We need to sign the next Grant or Wood in this FA but with so many team with money that will be tough.

My preference...

Lauri and our 1st for Vuc. Magic tank and get a top pick to go with Fultz Isaac and Lauri. Vuc becomes our Jokic.

WCJ and OPJ for Dipo and House.

Lavine
Dipo
House
PaW
Vuc
Coby Thad Temple Val off the bench.

If we can’t trade for vet talent then I would sell Thad Sato and Temple high.

Must do something. Buy or Sell. Thinking this crew will get over the hump as is... No Bueno.

I would absolutely do a trade for Vuc centered around White, Markannen, WCJ and a 1st. But I was listening to Duncan & Hollinger on their podcast this week and they seem to think that Orlando wouldn't trade him for a package worse than 3 first rounders.

Need to be a seller and do a mini tank bc the current team is not making the playoff. We are currently in lottery land after undergoing a cupcake schedule so far. By the end of the season, I personally expect us to be bet #8-#11 in term of lottery picks. They need to stop being stupid and keep pushing for that playoff cash year after year with garbage talent. Pick a direction and go all in. This stupidity is why the Bulls have become a joke for the past decade by having garbage talent evaluators making the big decisions and not fully bottoming out for elite talent when they become available via the draft.

No lottery team is going to give 3 first rounders for Vucevic. A playoff contending team will have no problem though.

Curious why you think the timing of their free agency is relevant?

This is better.
OPJ, WCJ, White, 21' for Dipo and Wood.

Dipo/Lavine/PAW/Lauri/Wood

If they really insist on PAW will give him with a salary dump of Porter, Felicio and preserve other assets.
Doncic will be goat. Lauri will be his sidekick.

Hmm...I like him. He's become a reliable scorer and he's under contract next season for a very reasonable $11M. I wouldn't mind him as our SF to give us another playmaking outside threat. I wonder if Lauri or Carter (plus some minor filler), might be enough?

I like Powell too, but he doesn’t really fix our problems and will become a free agent. You either lose him for nothing or pay him much more than 11 mil then. I’d pass (something Powell doesn’t do at all btw).

IMO, having Powell for a year at $11M is more useful than Carter (who is in a similar time situation) or gives us a chance to get some value for Lauri, gives similar production and saves money. I'd still prefer to use Lauri to get Ball, but if we had a line-up of:

Sato, Lavine, Powell, PWill, New C (really anyone...please!)/Thad

That would be better.

I’m 100% trading WCJ and Coby for expirings at this point. Even better if the guy is somewhat productive.

We could use some cap space in order to sign actual players and not waste them on scrubs.

It‘s not a year of Powell, it’s just 32 games (well, 29 if you do it at the deadline). WCJ is under contract through 21/22. Powell won’t help our playmaking issues or our defense...I don’t see the point.

Plus, I don’t even see the Raptors trading him to begin with.

Yeah, I have to agree, I'd probably trade Carter for him. But I wouldn't add much else, certainly not a 1st rounder.

You're right. Didn't notice he has a player option after this season.
