This is getting crazy. There are six or seven 7 footers in this draft and teams will trade all of them together for Noah if they can. And, not to forget Noah has a decent contract. The worst thing the Bulls can do is try to replicate 2010 in 2013 because they don't have the cap-space to sign good players next to LMA/Rose if they give up all their key players.

LMA is the 2nd scorer people want and he is a big which is a perfect combo to Rose. In this league you have to give to get and LMA is locked in for two more seasons. Portland is not going to just dump him.

But wouldn't it be wiser then for the Bulls to wait a year until he will only have 1 year left on his deal so he will have more power to dictate where he wants to be traded? Then we would not have to give up Noah.

If you replace Brooks with Aldridge are the nets better? Because i think both players are very similar (not that thats a bad thing) and also similar in energy and effort. Noah is still a deal breaker imo, everyone else besides Derrick is fair game though.

Morten Jensen wrote:Yeah.. Not giving up Joakim. Why on earth should we do that when LMA wants out? No reason to pay 90 cent on the dollar when you only have to pay 50.

Good post. This point is being overlooked.

LMA is essentially a "disgruntled" superstar that is taking control away from the FO. He can threaten the FO by refusing to re-sign with a team that they want to trade him to, ala Melo, Dwight, etc....

It will scare off some teams & box in the Portland FO to the point where they almost have to trade him to his preferred destination. Like Mort kinda pointed out, it puts the Bulls FO in the driver's seat as far as our offer.

You guys think Gortat is terrible lol no he's not Noah but he does what Noah does at a cheaper contract.

He's probably in the top 10 in double doubles..he's not a scrub

Not.

Marcin Gortat finished 7th in double doubles in 2011-2012, ahead of Greg Monroe, Noah, josh smith, David lee, Marc gasol, Lebrun, Duncan...list goes on

Last year he got injured...I'll take Gortat and be happy

Now we know how Brooklyn & NY felt when Howard & Paul said they wanted to go there. Hopefully something gets done. I doubt it will be tonight. Don't get your hopes up people. Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me.

Giving Noah and getting LMA isn't getting much. I love LMA but it would make zero sense trading Noah nor will it happen so idk why people are still discussing it.

I'm all for shot creators, but just because a player can creat his own shot, says nothing about whether that shot is going in or not. Brandon Jennings can get anywhere on the court, but he can't finish to save his life. For all his creating abilities, LMA is too content to sit back and hoist 20 footers with a hand in his face. Again, he is NOT an efficient scorer. I wouldn't mind him here, but for Noah? **** that.

They are nothing alike. What are you talking about?

Watch Gortat...he rebounds, scores easy buckets, blocks shots, runs the floor, protects the rim...there diff players but do the same things. Now put a 20&10 pf next to him and your good

Its unfortunate that LMA's shots result in him in the bottom quarter of all F/C in TS% (players scoring at least 10 ppg)

not to mention that boozer can get off the same % shot whenever he wants. he can shoot his moonshot 40% midrange jumper 20 times a game, just like aldridge can get similar % shots in other ways

we wanna amnesty a guy who makes similar money and provides similar offense by getting rid of our SG and backup PF as well? i don't get it

Ok, I'm not a fan of trading Noah (or keeping Deng), but here's what I propose:

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=q7dohg9

Chicago gets: Aldridge, Asik
Portland gets: Noah, Robinson
Houston gets: Hamilton, TPE

Why for Chicago: Aldridge becomes your #2. Asik fills the void at Center and gives you a guy who's played in the system before and can be a defensive presence. Allows you to trade or amnesty Boozer and possibly re-sign Deng.

Why for Portland: You get what you want, plus a former top 5 pick from last year's draft.

Why for Houston: You get rid of Asik and Robinson's salaries, minus 1 mil for the Hamilton buyout. Plenty of space for Howard and probably something else.

Bulls lineup:

Rose/Hinrich/Teague
Butler/Hinrich/draft pick or bench guy
Deng/Butler/bench guy
Aldridge/Taj/bench guy
Asik/Taj/bench guy or draft pick
2024: Maybe there's some hope?

PJ Brown wrote:Second scores are hard to find, but so are all star centers. If Aldridge wants to be a Bull, you don't have to trade Noah to get him in the end, even if you don't get him right now.

Most of the trade Noah arguments depend on the assumption we can somehow sneak in an steal Howard (no way) or at least take for granted we can get a substitute center. Teams have spend just as long trying to find a legit center as the Bulls have trying to get a #2 gun, often totally failing. Noah is also locked up contractually.

Lastly, Noah is the team leader and a true winner, a commodity just as rare as scorer or all-star center. Even Rose has acknowledged that Noah is essentially the team's leader.

Noah may not be an all star in the west

LMA could be a every year all star in the east

Carlos Boozer was 5th in Double/Doubles (Gortat was 41st) - why are we looking to replace him? Oh, thats right, because double/doubles are a near-worthless stat.

The Rockets would have to get at least some draft picks in this proposal. Maybe more. Teams would line up to take Omer off their hands.

he is an allstar caliber player more several more years to come

he is eons better than boozer

he is better than noah

he is the second scoring option this team has been yearning for since thibs started coaching

Return to Chicago Bulls
