Seems Paxson build another Gordon-Hinrich-Deng team. And Niko is doing his best impression of 6'10 Ben Gordon... And now he will again hope for #1 with 1.7% chance.

Portis and Holiday may be the lowest bball IQ pairing in the league. You want to tank just play them 25 mpg together. Niko, Lauri, and Lavine combined couldn't overcome that. Throw Zip in there with them for 20 of the minutes... tank accomplished.

i'm genuinely scared of the powers niko is tapping into at this moment in time
the bobby punch will be remembered as the moment that changed the game forever. basketball will be looked at in pre-GOAT niko and post-GOAT niko eras

So, during the summer people were blaming the front office for not getting enough value for Butler.
Now, the front office is to blame for getting too much value for Butler.

Plenty of basketball games to lose we still in December if this was say mid January through February then there is a concern.
I think you guys are missing the point to the reason why we have been winning or losing to begin with.
When we started the season we had No Niko, No Portis, No Lavine, No Dunn then went a 12 game stretch of No Nwaba.
Thats going to make you lose a ton of games.
The difference between us and teams like Atlanta, Dallas etc, is that we are getting healthier and actually improving our play. Those 5 names I mentioned 4 of them back, are pushing guys like Felicio, Pondexter, Zipser, whomever bench guy into very limited or non existent roles. Which obviously makes our team much better.
Like I said before, this team hardly looks like worst team overall but rather more like the Knicks, Lakers, Hornets etc Still lottery team, but in the 7-12 variety. People have blinders on if they cant see that.
We have been playing very well for 2 weeks now.
If Portis doesn't punch Niko... who knows...

And going forward as I mentioned the other day, teams will likely rest more players vs us down the stretch, or maybe even along the way.
That much is clear. The Bulls are a better team than they were a few weeks ago and they've had lucky circumstances during a three-game homestand + the Charlotte game.
It's also possible that injuries will happen to the Bulls and players will start struggling again. It's also possible that star players will sit, but those teams will be at home instead of on the road. There's a lot of factors. It would be a mistake to assume that this is the same quality of team the rest of the way.
I'm not saying we are a .500 team or something crazy.
But if no changes are made, LaVine comes back and is at least better than Valentine/Holiday (prob likely) and we make no moves, hard to see this team finishing bottom 3.

I hope Fred and these kids destroy it from here on out. Then I hope we wind up with the gem of the draft anyway. The basketball gods should PUNISH teams who actively try to lose and reward the ones who go for it.

That's fine.
I didn't want Ayton anyway. Who wants a 7' 1" guy with a 44" vertical, 3 point shot, and is averaging a 33 PER. Yuck.

Re: PG: Can't stop, won't stop
I get that some fans are getting slightly nervous, but in all honesty, I'm actually more positive than ever because we're building equity beyond just trying to be the worst team in the league.
In my mind, we'll end up being one of the bottom 4 teams in the league when the season ends. Why? Because I feel extremely confident that multiple players will be traded by the trade deadline, with future assets being returned and not significant players as part of the deal.
This recent play has proved that we have actual young talent with lots of potential (Lauri, Dunn, Nwaba), and players who are considered veterans are playing really well and in essence are increasing their trade value enough that we don't need to simply dump these players for the sake of it, but we're now in a position where we could potentially get future assets, ideally future first round picks.
To me this is a team not putting their eggs all in one basket, trying to get the worst record in HOPES to get a top 2 pick with no assurance that we will, with nothing to really fall back on besides doing the same thing the following year. But if we can be smart with trades, whilst being patient and attempt to gain some additional assets on top of losing, it only allows something additional assets to fall back on and make move with when things like the lottery balls where we have no control over doesn't fall in our favour.
Tanking is easy, but tanking whilst also gaining additional assets is smart, we have an opportunity to do the latter.

Came to say this. Legit the worst front office in the league. When they want to win, they put a tragic team together. When they want to lose, they put a stacked team together. Its crazy
Of course 90% of people on here agreed they had put together the worst team in the NBA.

For all we know this scenario playing out is GarPax's (and Jerry's) dream, the quick 1 year turnaround.
They'll get at least a Top 10 pick, sign some 2nd tier FAs and start 'going for it'.
They probably would have been perfectly happy with the Jimmy team if he didn't rustle their panties.

What if Lauri shows he was even better than the #7th pick in his draft? What if Lavine looks like a high lotto pick and the real deal when he comes back? What if this is the real Niko and plays like a high lottery pick from here on out? What if Nwaba just keeps doing what he's doing?
What if the Bulls win more than expected, get to around 26 wins with 20 games left and finished the season on like a 15-5 run with a .500 record and squeaked into the playoffs. Then won in the 1st round. How would you feel about that team with say the 13th pick in next years draft? Vs. one of worst teams in league and the 5th pick?
You need stars to win in the NBA. Dunn looks good, but the odds of him being a star are low. Ditto with Markkanen and I'm lower on Lavine than most. Good player but not a star. You need a star to put around these pieces.
Like a guy who can out up 25 a game or something?

For a guy who got his face broke, has come back with confidence that I've never seen from Niko during his entire time as a Bull.
Good for him. Build that value baby!! If he gets us another first round pick, oh man, I'll love him forever!

You can't possibly blame the front office for young players playing hard and wanting to win games.
And yet he just did.
Scottie Pippen's response to whom he would pick for his running mate, Michael or LeBron: "That's a dumbass question. I've never done anything with LeBron. I wouldn't take LeBron to the movies."

Not sure about 'people' but I made the exact same complaint - and warning - then. That this route could lead you to an NBA treadmill path very quickly.
Its not about total value, we need a dollar bill to launch a rebuild, not 3 quarters.
