I honestly wouldn't hate ditching Lavine and signing Smart.

I'll go ahead and make a sig bet that Mikal is better by RPM this year than Zach.

Maybe he meant NEXT July?! Bring back Jimmy in free agency. Would make perfect sense if we draft Trae Young cause Jimmy is the exact type of guy that you need next to him

Paxson has mentioned players fitting "our timeline" quite a bit in recent interviews. So thinking about what he could be thinking..

Players potentially here for 5+ years:

PG - Dunn/Payne
SG - Lavine/Nwaba
SF - 2018 Pelicans pick/Denzel
PF - Lauri/Bobbi
C - 2018 Bulls pick/Felicio

Currently useful veterans: Lopez, Holiday

Fringe: Grant, Kilpatrick, Asik, Zipser, Vonleh, Arcidiacono, Blakeney

So maybe a free agent in age range of the first group?

I would. I’m talking projectile vomit hate. I’d give it two weeks before this board would be trying to find out where Smart lives watching him do what he does on THIS team.

We thought we had a nice team in the summer of 2010 with a core of Rose/Noah/Deng....

or that GarPax pre-maturely blew up the 3 Amigos frankenstein team...

But we actually have a "deeper" team now with "better fitting" pieces in a core of Markannen/Lavine/Dunn + one of Bamba/MPJ/Young

We were trending our way into the playoffs this year.

The ball movement is way better now plus Fred isn't gonna be a micromanager.

The training facility moving downtown is a big plus...

I could see a Tier 1 star (LBJ) at least taking a look at us...

I’m not even high on Zach, but I’ll take him over Smart any day.

Offense > Defense.

The point of the game is to score points. The hell are we gonna do with two brick-layers at the PG spot.

No interest in any 2018 FA besides Durant. I would regretfully agree to sign George if he really wanted to come here. We’d basically become the 2015-17 Bulls again.

I'm not sure why there aren't any Jahlil Okafor mentions yet...

Those rumors won't start until the offseason I suppose.

But the Bulls have had their eye on this "unrestricted" guy for a while now if memory serves correctly.

It depends on who The Bulls draft. If it's a center then there's no need to consider him.

Do you think the Bulls should give Okafor a chance if the cost is minimal?

Would you support if the Bulls went after Capela with the max? Assuming Bulls don't draft Bamba or WCJ.

Capela/Lauri/Mikal Bridges or Michael Porter JR/Lavine/Dunn

Yes... Even if we do draft a big... He's a 22yr old 3rd stringer coming in Lopez's final yr as a Bull.

And unless he gets a bigger deal somewhere else I believe they will... He'll be cheaper (and better) than Felicio.

I'll definitely take him on a very affordable contract. He avg 17 and 7 not to long ago. And again, he's only 22.

Smart is the superior player lol and he is 10x the better winning player. Just because offense>defense doesnt mean Lavines better since he has minus IQ. Would you want really another braindead JR Smith? In fact, I would pay Smart 4/60 whereas Lavine can get the veteran's minimum LMAO.
Doncic will be goat. Lauri will be his sidekick.

Capella is gonna be one sad story for whoever maxes him.

Along with Cousins, for opposite reasons.

I'd rather go with Lavine than Smart...
and you don't have to like him yet, but you guys are nuts if you say you wouldn't want LeBron.

Capela looks better than he actually is, because of his great fit at Rockets. His stats are inflated because of that, and he won't be able to duplicate his performance elsewhere.
From the basketball's perspective, travel is a nice pause from being pounded to the floor.

YES! Lets bring a center that has even "higher" IQ in defense than Portishead  .

Woj hasn't been right about Bulls free agency yet. Don't know why he would start being right now.
