Uh uh, already lived through the MdDermott hell once, pick someone else to be our new Hinrich.
I said it before, but I'd be all for bringing Jamal Crawford back. Obviously, he's not the same confused kid as when he played WITH Fred Hoiberg on the Bulls. He seems to genuinely have a great basketball mind and great mentality. Dude seems like one of the most well adjusted people in the NBA, period. People don't have this long of careers by accident.
He's got a close friendship to Lavine, had a similar situation with his ACL, and has just won teammate of the year. For some reason, he's still really quick and mobile. He suits the modern NBA. He could be a tremendous influence in making sure some of our young guys get into the right mindset and habits to prolong their careers, and be a great mentor. I don't know, I'd rather take him than Lance Stevenson; they probably have a similar impact on wins and losses, but Lance doesn't seem like the best big brother type of figure---I don't know. And Rodney Hood will be expensive to outbid Cleveland, and would have much more of an affect of playing us out of the lotto than a lot of us felt Holliday and Lopez did last season.
I'm endeared by the idea of trading Holliday and replacing his spot on the roster with Jamal Crawford. It seems like, in the best case scenario, it would put more focus on the young core while simultaneously giving them more support for life and careers in the NBA. Maybe that's totally overselling it, but I really feel that to become a good team, we really need Dunn and Lavine to ball out and reach lofty potentials.
