I had no idea what you are talking about so I went back and watched all of them. I think you are misremembering or watched something different. Gordon's leapfrog dunks all used two hands. He never once put his hand on someone to push off. If you mean something else by push off, apologies and please correct me. (videos are adjusted to exact moment for your ease to watch since maybe we didn't see the same dunk contest)

1st dunk: Between legs dunk ... no leapfrog.
2nd dunk: over Chance with two hand grab ... NO PUSH OFF AT ALL
https://youtu.be/QKJtHJBFUdw?t=58
3rd dunk: over Chance with two hands again ... NO PUSH OFF AT ALL
https://youtu.be/Y8WmBqH7430?t=47
4th dunk: insane 360 one hand windmill off backboard ... no leapfrog
5th dunk: over Chance between legs, two hands again ... NO PUSH OFF AT ALL
https://youtu.be/bdwjXic7Bgc?t=188
6th dunk: over Tacko, two hands again ... NO PUSH OFF AT ALL (but didn't fully clear the 7'5")
https://youtu.be/GIzMy2blDGI?t=102

I understand you are saying you don't really care at all. I just find it ironic you're saying something so completely false and the opposite of what we all physically watched. Considering Jones ACTUALLY put his hands to push off 6'9" Bam:

THANK YOU! I, too, remembered clearly that Jones Jr was actually the one guilty of the push off but too lazy to call it up myself.
Turn down for what?

A very fine dunk contest ruined by ludicrous judging.

I think that DJ jr. deserved the win with that tornado dunk earlier, that was sick, 360 and between the legs! AG is just repeating dunks mostly.. Tack Fall dunk, meeh, not that impressed really.

lol, after years of watching inside I know how sensitive Kenny can be when being made of. It probably took everything he had not to get the last word in.

Wade had no business being a judge when a Heat player was one of the competitors.

Gordon got robbed.

The NBA isn't even consistent with their own rules. How they go by the total scores from the previous and current rounds to move on to the 3rd in the dunk contest, but didn't use that to determine the winner in the last round?

Payton went off the rails after that and got into it with Haddish a bit. It was great.

I know that in the grand scheme of things, the dunk contest is meaningless and just supposed to be a fun event for fans. But I gotta say that it does say something about Wade that he would pull something off like this. Super shady.

Looks like he is pushing off the ball to get higher to me, but whatever if no one else cares I don't either.

Still was fun to watch. I think no matter who ended up losing people were going to say they got screwed.

reminded me of the summer of 2010 when he slandered the Bulls in an attempt to weaken their chances of landing a star. Some people say this was not the case but imo he knew Chicago was going to be he and lebrons main adversary in the East.

For those that dont remember he questioned the Bulls loyalty due to the fact that he didnt see MJ and pip employed by the organization (its been awhile so that might not be %100 accurate but it was essentially the point he was making). This of course is ludicrous since MJ owned a team and Pip at the time was not in need of money. More to his point there were plenty examples of organization loyalty to former players that even eclipses what the heat have shown. Jerry is many things and one of those is loyal, often to fault.....cough*garpax*cough

The irony in that 2010 statement by wade is Riley was not loyal enough to pay him his thank you money which the Bulls ended up doing in 2016 lol.

It’s all strategic. The controversy actually is great. Gives more drama to future dunk contests. I mean the controversy from 88 was the theme of the whole night as it was. You need that to keep it memorable long term. Plus rigged politics in Chicago? Of course it would happen here. Every single moment last night was 100‰ entertainment and marketing.

I agree with this to a certain extent, but being an NBA dunk contest winner actually does mean something to these players. So I do feel for AG that he was robbed of that.

Oh for sure it sucks but he also he is also known as the guy that was robbed twice now! That brings its own fame to be in two contests that were memorable rather than winning one that was forgettable. The thing is they can have that “fun” element in the contest because it doesn’t officially count... its part of the entertainment package not the sport package of the NBA.

And there goes Aaron Gordon. Ja Morant might be out from future events too looking at his tweet.

Good job DWade.

Gordon wasn’t freaking robbed twice Jesus Christ. Gordon wasted his dunk of the night vs Lavine in his 2nd attempt vs Lavine . Lavine came back with a 50 dunk of his own after that Gordon jumped over the mascot . Last two dunks of that contest , Gordon does some baseline reverse pump that was honestly just alright he looked tired , Lavine goes to do a between the legs from the free throw line to win it

Hell if he wanna be real Gordon was just doing different variations of the dunks from 2016 . And jumping over 5’2 chance the rapper wasn’t impressive. Jones least impressive was the less impressive version of Lavine windmill from the free throw

I don’t know the AG got robbed it was just a strange ending to it. It was a great showdown honestly. I get it is all a “show” but his fake protesting kinda got to me. I like the character who says give me 10 more dunks I’ll beat him every time.
