Trubisky probably has had the best 3 game stretch of his career after coming off being benched. I don't know what it means, long term, but I'm happy to see him finally playing with more confidence.

I'm pleasantly surprised, but am not yet convinced he's anything more than a solid backup/fringe starter for an NFL team. It's one thing to have these kind of performances against bad teams, but can he do this against the Packers, the Chiefs, the Saints etc..? I need to see it first.

As far as him being re-signed: unless it's a short term deal that doesn't hamstring them with the cap, I don't think it's likely he will be back, and quite frankly, I'm not sure he even wants to be back. I was a definite no a few weeks ago on bringing him back, but if he can perform the way he has in these last 3 games, you can't automatically rule it out.

In the game yesterday, he had two throws that were about as impressive as I've ever seen from him. The touchdown to Allen Robinson where he made an anticipatory throw over the top of the defender before he was even open, and the side arm, across the body throw he made to Kmet with pressure in his face were just absolutely sensational plays. That was #2 pick in the draft kind of stuff.

2:45-3:15 are the two plays I'm talking about.

Thought the exact same thing. Include the TD pass to Mooney over a defender that he kind of push lobbed. That had tough and was the type of play great ones make.

Taking all those sacks though... that’s why he’s Mitch. I could see where he has a solid NFL career as a backup/fill in. Can’t win anything because of him though.

Kmet is emerging as a legit weapon. Why didn’t we use him earlier? Him and Mooney are both playmakers.

If I'm MItches agent I'd try to get him a multi-year deal as a back up with a team with a mobile QB.(Bal, Ari, Buf, possibly where ever Cam winds up etc.) I think its clear he can play in the NFL but he needs a specific type of team to be serviceable so that obviously limits his market. I think his best bet is to get into a situation where he wont be a fish out of water if he has to come fill in for a traditional drop back passer.

Cam is never going to be a starter again. He is absolutely awful.

Cam has looked rough I will not argue that. All the more reason for Mitch to go to a team that signs Cam as he would likely get a look as a starter if Cam looks rough again or he could even beat him out in camp.

Point being Mitch needs a team that is planning on running a duel threat QB offense, Cam is similar in that regard regardless of what you think about his prospect of being a starter going forward.

No team is bringing both Cam and Mitch in.

I think Mitch needs to be in an offense like that, but his agent will:
1: Look for a spot he can be a clear starter (probably won't find one)
2: Look for a spot he can have a legitimate chance to win the starting role if he plays well (might find one)
3: Look for a spot where he can make high end backup money (probably will find one)
4: Look for a spot where the system fits his skills only if the starter gets hurt and the money isn't as good (sure, that's out there)

He's not going to prioritize scheme over money.

don't drink too much of the Trubisky kool aid.

that was an awful Texans team that gave up a few weeks ago and needs that Nagy speech for their squad.
they didn't want to be here, looked like it and played like it.

I'm glad fans didn't pay money to watch that, was like beating up the Washington Generals.

You'll see the real Trubisky vs Green Bay in a few weeks with a stat line of 15/35, 220 yrds and 3 INT and 1 TD maybe
Would be funny if GB has the Home Field Bye wrapped up by then and starts their rookie Jordan Love and he beats us.

Exactly. He played well against 2 awful defenses. He was bad against GB 3 weeks ago, and got much of his production in garbage time.

Is Foles on the books the next 2 years? That deal continues to look worse and worse and could hinder what QB moves the Bears make.

If they have to keep Foles, are they really going to bring Mitch back on a reasonable 8-10 million dollar a year deal AND draft a QB in the 1st or 2nd round?

Hopefully they can cut Foles with minimal cap impact.

Would people here trade for Wentz now that it seems the Eagles may be moving forward with Jalen Hurts? Wondering if something like Mack and Foles could land us Wentz plus picks for Philladelphia.

Bears see if they can rehabilitate Wentz while also gaining additional picks (gotta build up that line for whatever our future is).

Maybe we trade for Wentz and keep Foles as a back up. That would be fun lol.

Bears are going to have to gut the roster just to be able to afford to keep Allen Robinson and people want to pick up Wentz and his albatross contract?

Probably one of the worst takes I've ever heard, just asinine.

I'm already preparing for him to join the Packers...

For the life of me, I will never understand why he hasn't been extended yet. The one guy on offense who's been worth a crap for the last 3 years is pretty much the one guy Ryan Pace doesn't throw money to. He's had no trouble extending Fuller, Goldman, Jackson, and Cohen, but not Robinson? It makes no sense.

If he's not back next year, and they're not trying to rebuild, it's an unforgivable mistake. The guy is only 27.

first of all, they don't have much money left BECAUSE they extended all of those guys to big deals. secondly...

I think there will be a couple of unique QBs available this offseason. Someone in Detroit reported the lions will move on from Stafford. He’s 33, so has at least a couple years left.

I also wouldn’t be surprised if the Falcons may be looking to move on from Ryan. They’re going nowhere and need a full rebuild.

I also read if the 49ers cut Garrapolo before the summer they only owe him a minuscule amount. Something to watch.

Bears would have to do some crazy cap management. If they're smart though and those guys are truly available, you make some tough decisions and you get an OLine to keep the standing upright.

Ryan is underrated IMO. Jimmy G is a decent game manager but always hurt (that's a problem). Stafford is good, but again, get him an OLine. If he were to ever play in Chicago, he would be playing with the best RB he's ever had in his career the moment he gets off the plane.

Matt Ryan is a statue, while he is undeniably far more talented it'd be Nick Foles all over again behind this trash offensive line.

Garopolo isnt better than Mitch, he is a game manager who has been riding a stud defense and potent running attack.

Stafford is intriguing but the Bears simply cant afford him and he would have no receivers to throw to even if they could.

Its going to be a $10mill qb or a rookie next season, options are extremely limited
