I am not impressed with the pick. I wanted the bulls to draft Haliburton . Who cares if he the youngest player in the draft. He is proving me right with the Tyrus Thomas and Michael Kidd-Gilcrist comparisons

I don't get the Tyrus Thomas comparison? Thomas was a supremely athletic player who actually was a disruptor defensively almost from day one. His issue was that he was just crazy raw and never developed his skillset. Williams actually seems fairly skilled, he just doesn't seem assertive. Right now, he's almost like Tony Snell in that regard.

Give it time. The league is starting to adjust to him. Let's see if/how he adjusts back.
Give it time.

Reported for Poku slander.
Looks like Williams is the 2nd youngest! I was just repeating the lies that others have been spewing on this forum. Just awful, guys. Let's get it together.
I’m not going to sit here and let people ruin the one thing Poku has going for him right now.

PW is so underutilized within our offense that I question if it's a hindrance to his development. If we brought him off the bench he would probably be higher in the scoring pecking order, which would be better for his development.

the dreaded Snell comparison. In some ways. But the talent is much superior, and the passivity seems almost deliberate on Pat’s part rather than some inner fatal hindrance. It does appear the team asked him to do some rebounding lately, and he picked it up. Couldn’t do that with a Snell. Granted, he could shoot more, and they asked him to do so. But I think he lacks ultimate confidence. Which hopefully is just a lack of maturity and experience. Plus, that hip injury coincided with a minutes drop and some game disappearance.

Pat Williams need to assert himself more on the defensive end in term of rebounds, rebounds, and steals. On offense, he needs to either shoot open treys or roll to the basket to initiate foul contacts. It’s simple basketball.

He went from competent and confident to looking clueless and tentative. I really don’t think teams are giving him different looks is just not performing. The ease with which Jaylen Brown was blowing by him was awful. He has played Lebron, Kawahi and Luka and not looked that nearly bad so I think it is mental.

Patrick Williams cannot guard quick 3's on the perimeter.
Someone had to say it, may as well be me.

So people are saying that the youngest American player in the NBA - who has played a TOTAL of 407 NBA minutes - has some weaknesses? Some areas of his game he needs to work on? I'm shocked.

It's not that. I remember well when people were calling him "already the second-best player on the team" after a few games.
That didn't age well.

I think it is way too early to draw this conclusion. Also looking at Brown’s numbers no one has been able to stop him. It’s like trying to stop LaVine for other teams except he has also has another elite scorer in Tatum and very good PG next to him.

LeBron, Giannis, Kawhi, and Luka are different kinds of covers than Brown. Brown's quick, and he was running off all kind of motion, and screens. None of the other guys were really doing that, that much.

These are the two worst comps for Willy that I’ve seen.

Yet to be seen where Williams can get his game too, but he needs to start coming off the bench, can't afford both him and White failing to fire.
