When do the Bulls need to sign-up for the guaranteed portion of Thad's and Sato's contract, IIRC it was this month, right?

That said, I doubt the Bulls get Ball in any other scenario than a S&T.

I can´t believe some poster can be serious about resigning Cameron Payne. He still is playing as Suns backup pg.Why should the Bulls sign a backup guy for competing with another bench player(Coby?)What would exactly be the logic behind such decision?

I'm not advocating for Payne, but the dude has upped his game since darkening our doorstep. His stats on similar min:
2018-19: 41% FG 27% 3pt% 2.1ast 1.1 TO

2020-21: 48% FG 44% 3pt% 3.6ast 1.0 TO

Coby -
2020-21 42%FG 36% 3pt% 4.8ast 2.3 TO

I'm not sure I would say Payne should be our starting PG, but I'm sure I don't want Coby again.

I don't want Coby as our starting pg for another season but we must be active during the offseason( or ,much better, being lucky tonight in the lottery) addressing the big hole we have at point guard now and Cameron Payne can't be the answer even having elevated his game especially in the last playoff games. We need a pg who can really bring improvement for the Bulls and from that list I still prefer signing Ball over the others,my second option being Lowry. The last thing I wanna see is another losing season with Donovan trying to prove that Coby can run the point for the Bulls .

Bring in low cost experienced winners Vasilije Micic and Shane Larkin at PG

Use other the assets to upgrade the front court.

Get deep and have multiple shot/playmakers.

Is Micic still available? There was talk about it but then it died down. Also are the Bulls the only team trying to trade for him?

Like the idea of pursuing proven vets ( at least at some level ) McConnell would be good value for money. Work horse type, good in the PnR, etc.

From the Micic thread:

https://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/262929/Vasilije-Micic-Thunder-Likely-To-Wait-Until-After-Draft-To-Decide-On-21-22

Micic and the Thunder each appear to prefer to wait until after the draft to make a decision on whether he will join the team.

If I had to guess, OKC wants to see what kind of 2021 draftee they can get in a trade, while Micic wants to make sure his rights are held by a team he wants to play for before he commits to joining the NBA next season.

REGGIE JACKSON?!

Only guys I‘d consider are Ball (depends on the money) and Lowry, who won’t come here.

Reggie Jackson has playoff experience has played and shot the ball well. I don't understand that reaction.

Reggie Jackson has been absolutely critical to this Kawhi-less operation. Whenever we see Paul George mess up, it's usually a Reggie Jackson 3 that's been maintaining or creating momentum.

He’s an unrestricted free agent. The Bulls should be pursuing him this summer.

Yea I really like how Reggie Jackson has been playing for the clippers this post season. It's wild, I remember when he was a great backup in OKC and wanted a starting job and I was like ehhh idk. Goes to Detroit and isn't worth the contract (granted Detroit is where most careers go to die) and then bounces back from falling out of rotation to being a key cog and helping the team immensely. This is how we were expecting him to play if he got a starting job out of OKC. If the contract isn't massive, I'd love for the bulls to go after him.

Lonzo Ball is first, second and third option.

From the quoted names above, I agree Lonzo would be my pick. Decent size, length, defender, rebounder, but his biggest attribute is his playmaking ability. As of late his jumper looks to be on the upswing too.

If I’m considering cheaper options I am looking at Micic and McConnell.

Names that make no sense, kemba, cam payne and Lowry.

Micic is the best option if money is considered part of the equation. If we can sign him for @ $5 Million per that's 1/4 of what Lonzo is going to get somewhere. Second best option would be a sign and trade...Lonzo for Lauri. Third option would be rolling the dice with a Free Agent that wouldn't cost us as much as Lonzo, Schroeder, Lowry, etc. Maybe someone like Devonte Graham from Charlotte, Alex Caruso from the Lakers, Mike James from Brooklyn, Shane Larkin from Turkey....

I don’t know enough about Micic to comment.

But as regards everyone else, now that we’ve lost out on lottery luck, the outlook is incredibly bleak. It’s basically get Ball or we’re **** and Zach leaves.

Unless Pat takes 4 months to get to a level you normally would not expect for two more years.

Good grief our situation sucks.

I disagree.

There are lots and lots and lots of 6' -6'3" guys out there. We need someone who can dribble like mad. Someone who can pressure opposing PG's and instill fear in their tiny little hearts. Someone who can GET THE BALL to a bunch of guys on this team who can shoot. In Vooooooch and Z we have 2 guys who can flat out score. It is the rest of the team we need to worry about. And because they are so good at scoring they provide opportunities for lesser mortals when the opposing team focuses on them

Think of all the journeymen, and there were BUNCHES of them, that MJ got decent contracts for. Good players make everyone look better and I think Vooooch and Z are good players.
