Re: Vuc Trade Thread
Lakers interested in Vuc per Brett Siegel of Clutch Sports.

Apparently for Vanderbilt (who would be moved elsewhere), Vincent and some seconds?

Re: Vuc Trade Thread
It's interesting that the teams that have the main teams interested in Vuc (Lakers and Warriors) have strong defensive 4s (AD and Green).

Re: Vuc Trade Thread
I’ve always thought Vuc would be a great fit on the Lakers and a massive upgrade in the starting lineup over Rui.
That being said, why would we deal him for a package like that? He’s on a solid contract and the seconds are close to worthless.
The Lakers are the ones who a desperate to make a move so they need to give us some positive value and not dump some bad contracts on us.

I could be talked into having Vanderbilt as a pump and dump candidate for next year. Bulls don't like PFs though.

Re: Vuc Trade Thread
If you saw the latest in many articles with Anthony Davis he makes it pretty clear that he thinks he's better he's better off playing the PF on both ends, so he endorses getting a center
Here's what you do. Adjust your Laker hat and find where Vanderbilt and Vincent get rerouted to and include those teams in the trade. Maybe you can find the Bulls a center while you're at it so Smith doesn't have to play 48 minutes. The Bulls don't need Gabe Vincent at another year at $11M when they still have another year for Carter at $6.8M. There are two objectives in Vuc trades for the Bulls, get a center and maybe a PF and don't make the stockpile of guards any bigger. That is why all these 1-1 Laker trades look the same and don't help the Bulls.
The best thing for the Bulls would be a bidding war between the Lakers ad GSW for Vuc. And yeah that sounds funny. The Bulls and LAL/GSW should be finding teams to take what the Lakers and GSW have been offering for months and send the Bulls something useful, and not another bunch of guards Better would be some better 2nd round picks

Re: Vuc Trade Thread
Vucevic reverting back to the norm, his last 20 games he's shooting 32% from 3.
AKME better find a trade for him soon or his value if going to start dropping again.

Maybe they want value similar to a FRP pick. So like one SRP in the 30s and another in the 40s.

Vuc would be so good for GS, I can't believe they wouldn't trade a lotto protected 1st to get him.

Re: Vuc Trade Thread
It's the smart move for the Bulls to look for a FRP for Vuc at this point. The Lakers and GSW see there aren't any perfect centers out there, if any other team is asking about Vuc they know it too. They can get a lower paid or expiring defensive guy who is no threat on offense. That's what they're deciding now, do we need scoring and rebounding or just a guy to play defense and rebound. When Feb 3-4 roll around they're going to have to decide, are we contenders and do we want to go for it this year or give up? And few want to give up. Vuc is the big move and if any team is serious they're just going to have to bite the bullet and pay up.

I agree from the standpoint of the value of 2nd's being very close to zero. That said, if we have to wait for the offseason, it will be hard to trade and not have to carry salary into next season.

Re: Vuc Trade Thread
Whole lotta days left til the deadline. They should hold out for a 1st rounder. Vuc's contract is not bad and his production continues to be strong and shows that it could age well.

Re: Vuc Trade Thread
Two most mentioned teams in Vooch trades are LA and GSW,
LA : Vucevic (20M), Craig (2.8M)
Bulls : Hachimura (17M, 18M next season), Hayes (2.4M, FA next season), Reddish (2.4M, FA next season)
Bulls 22.8M out, 21.9M in, waive Reddish after deal
Lakers get their center, AD moves to PF, Craig gives them another good vet for playoffs, who can play SF, PF spots!
Bulls get PF and young backup center behind Smith.. Rui applies a bit more pressure to PWill and Matas has more time
to adjust to NBA and to take over starting PF next season.
SECOND option, with GSW :
GSW : Vucevic
Bulls : Looney (8M), Payton (9.1M), 2nd rounder, both Looney and Payton expirings.. we maybe waive Payton after the deal (depends on other deals, what Bulls might do with Lavine, White etc), Looney is solid vet for tanking team..
GSW gets their starting center, who can spread the floor for them and with Green he has defensive presence in post to balance
out Vooch defensive issues.
I would explore White, Carter, THT, PWill, Giddey deals along the trade deadline as well..
Keepers : Matas, Ball, Zach, Ayo, Smith

Man, that LA deal is bad. We are stuck with another non-starter-quality overpaid Rui for another season. We'd be much better off dumping Vuc for expirings.

Expirings + seconds from the Warriors is a no-brainer. I hope AKME don't screw this up, but I fully expect them to.

If the Bulls do, you would be complaining to much to ever hear it.
NBA fan logic we need to trade one of two best players because (Player X) one needs to shine more.

They will take that closer to the deadline. No reason to do that now.

Re: Vuc Trade Thread
I like Vuc. I like Zach. I don't REALLY want to take another teams trash for them but that seems to be the only path forward.
Picks, ANY PICKS need to be included. Expiring contracts. I can't see us getting any FRP's? But who knows. Desperate teams will do desperate things and convince themselves that they make sense
