If they took Deng back, I would. Easily...

We'd NEED to hire Thibo at that point though.

FWIW, Deng and his 4 year 50 mill contract is going to be nearly impossible to move. Nearly impossible. Not that hes not a good player, just not nearly worth the 11 mill per year hes being paid. Good midrange, decent rebounder for a small, not much else. Very nervous about the knicks making a similar mistake with Lee, a good but far from a complete player.

Same w/ Hinrich, whos not as good as Deng, but also has an awful contract. I could argue for the output per dollar, HInrichs contract is Jerome James-esque.

Think of it, the Knicks had to give Hill, the 7th overall pick just to clear Jeffries, and granted Jeffries isnt as good as Deng, his contract is for considerably less years and money.

Sure, thinking of trades is fun to think about, but IMO the 2011 Bulls are going to have both Deng and Hinrich on their roster, and all hypotheticals for James and Bosh and whomever else should factor both players and salaries on the books.

If only Isaih was still managing the Knicks you could have dump both off on us and gotten picks back!

This description is just wrong, my friend.

Yes, you could make the argument...and you'd be very wrong in that argument.

No evidence that rumors are true

Around Town Fred Mitchell and David Kaplan 9:56 p.m. CDT, May 19, 2010

The rumor about LeBron James house hunting in Highland Park (some say with Michael Jordan) has taken on a life of its own. But there is no evidence it's true.
Matt Silver, an Evanston real estate agent, said he does not believe it. He has handled deals with sports celebrities in Highland Park, including the sale of B.J. Armstrong's home to Julius Peppers.

"I got about 20 text messages today from about six or eight agents, who were like, 'Are you working with (James)?' I said: 'What are you talking about?'" Silver said. "I am pretty quiet about stuff (involving celebs). But there are lots of people in my profession who can't keep their mouth shut."

^ Because this one real estate agent hasn't heard anything doesn't mean it isn't true. LeBron could have likely told the guy he is working with that if he says anything about it he'll take his business elsewhere.. Who's going to risk losing a client like LeBron? Just playing devil advocate.

I thought the more damning quote was about that real estate guy fielding calls from several other realtors asking if he was working with James. Seems like no one knows who was with LeBron.

What kind of evidence would there be? Short of pictures of him in Chicago, there isn't anything there that would be for public consumption.

I'm not saying LeBron was here or wasn't, but I'm not sure what kind of evidence they were looking for. The realtor they asked didn't refute anything other than saying that other realtors have been questioning him if he's the one, to which he further replied that some people can't keep their mouths shut. What does that mean? :dontknow:

Okay so first the story from Lebrons co-author was he expected Lebron to go to New York, as if he'd heard things...now the guy is begging him to? Why? Because it's the MECCAAAAA

One thing I haven't seen discussed much, but I think is worth mentioning, is the international business implications associated with LeBron James signing with the Chicago Bulls.

Anyone who has traveled extensively internationally or lived abroad, knows well that there is incredible nostalgia for the Jordan-led teams of the 1990's and the Chicago Bulls brand is very strong. In fact, I can't recall how many conversations I've had over the last decade with people in places as far-ranging as Japan to Croatia to Spain to Germany about how that Bulls dynasty introduced them to the NBA and how they would stay awake at odd hours of the night and early morning to watch Jordan and Pippen battle the various foes of the era (New York, Portland, Seattle, Utah, etc).

In an ever-globalizing world, LeBron coming to Chicago and attempting to emulate Jordan's success could recapture the imagination of a great number of fans both domestically and internationally. I'd even go as far as to predict that LeBron would lead the league internationally in jersey sales and NBA ratings throughout Europe would exponentially grow with him in a Bulls uniform. Of course, more international exposure for LeBron means increased commercial opportunities. Athletes like Michael Schumacher, David Beckham, and Roger Federer have made tens of million in endorsement deals in just Europe over the past 5-10 years.

Before anyone mentions New York.. They too, are an international city and offer increased marketing opportunities, but on paper, are a much riskier option due to less overall basketball talent. For an athlete entering his limited prime years, that matters.

In the end, I don't think the story of LeBron in New York City would be as compelling internationally, as LeBron in Chicago. This might be a unique and positive twist on the "LeBron caught in Jordan's Shadow" talk, but I firmly believe LeBron can best achieve his basketball and business aspirations (which are inherently tied together) most effectively in Chicago.

"... and if you can believe it, reports of a new twist in this shocking saga are gathering steam. LeBron is said to have been spotted with Delonte's mother, and they were all over each other."

^^I don't have a link for that right now. Because I made it up. But it would be so cool if true.
