Draft Dieng (or Adams or Withey) with our pick.
Trade Bobcat's, Teague for mid first rounder for Giannis.
Deng for Eric Gordon
Rose at point. Gordon, Butler, and Giannis on the wings. Noah, Taj, Boozer, and Dieng down low with Mirotic looming.
Somebody find me Pax's email.

Neil Funk would never get the two names right, between Dieng and Deng.

I try to get the Giannis hype, I watched a big part of that complete game with him and while I can see a guy who has talent, I see someone who is passive during big parts of the game, the part I saw he didn't really impress me. He's not ready IMO and he will take 2 or 3 years to get ready. Great highlight vids against inferior talent? Not that impressed really. I'm very curious what you guys see in him. I would think about spending a 2nd round pick on him and stash him for at least 2 or 3 years, but I don't see a first and I really don't see us trading the Char pick for him, or giving up assets for him.

Dieng is the only player we should want at our spot. Only way we should pass him up is for Giannis. Anyone else is pointless. 2nd round, get Zeke Marshall from Akron or Snaer from Florida State.
But even if we get none of those guys, ill trust our FO when it comes to the draft.

That's one of the bonus perks of drafting Dieng: The sheer Unintentional Comedy of seeing Neil Funk trying to keep the two straight in a broadcast.

If Steven Adams or Archie Goodwin is on the board, there's no way you can take Dieng over them. Even though Glen Robinson III still needs a lot of work, I'd even ponder him for his upside.

I dont post much anymore but have to chime in on this one, I've been wanting Dieng for the last couple of months now and he's done nothing this tourney to disuade me from that. I thnk he'd be a parfect fit for Thib's system and I'm glad that GarPax are scouting him or whatever.
I do have to say though that the one guy that really wow'd me this post season was Isaiah Austin. Naturally as an Iowa fan I watched the NIT final and came away really impressed. I was surprised to see that he was projected so low and have to wonder what happened to him and Baylor this season because they seemed really good! At least in that game I saw, Austin was awesome. He obviously is huge 7'1" w/ 7'4" wing span. Good shot blocker and very agile. The thing that impressed me most was his dribbling and shooting though. He looked like he could basically get his own shot off the dribble and even showed some basic dribble moves and the ability to pull up off the dribble. He had range out to the 3-pt line and his shot looked pretty smooth. he also was able to penetrate a couple times and pass off the dribble to get open layups/dunks for his teammates. Lastly he also took a jordan-esque fade away with contact out of the post and hit the shot. NBA draft.net has him in the 2nd round but his write up from earlier this year says he's a top 5 pick. Also DX has him 15th.
I have to say that we need to get this guy if he's there and maybe even trade up a few spots to grab him. But otherwise I'll be happy with Dieng!

I suspect we will have to trade up for Dieng. He's a very well-rounded, NBA ready center. This draft is filled with unknowns, and he came up big in the national championship.
It seems like every player the board seems to target tends to shoot up the draft board. First McLemore, then Oladipo, now Dieng.
My semi-realistic big board at this point: Dieng, KCP, Adams, Goodwin, Withey
Although I would be pretty disappointed if we had to settle for Withey, it could be worth trading out for a 2014 pick.

Personally, I dont think Adams will be that great. Dieng is a great fit in Thibs system. Archie is legit, though he is projected 2nd round at the moment.

Wow. That kid, I think, is Alex Austin's son. That name is a blast from the past. My next door neighbors in Tempe, AZ, in around 1991 were Isaac and Alex Austin, from Arizona St. Isaac had just been drafted by the Jazz, I think, they bought a house in my cul de sac and they were livin it up at the time. Smoked a lot of weed with the twins around that time. My GF and Alex's were good friends.

So Chad Ford has his 1.0 Mock draft out.. he has the Bulls taking Caldwell-Pope at 19 and Withey and Dieng going at 21 and 22, respectively. And Isaiah Austin going 24.

I'm on the Mitch McGary bandwagon. He actually reminds me alot of Boozer in terms of size/bulk and nice midrange shot.

Personally I like the pick, but I feel like a Butler/Caldwell-Pope SG rotation is pretty young. They probably want some veteran in there. I see us going big or SF with the pick to backup Deng. But who knows.
Caldwell-Pope is a really good scorer tho.

Who do you guys thinks falls this year?
Would you rather draft on Potential but need time to grow (Teague/Johnson) Or on NBA Readiness but lower ceiling (Butler/Gibson)

That seems like a loaded question.

Maybe I'm catching draft fever, but it seems like the Bulls should be able to draft a rotation player with their pick?

isaiah austin will get absolutely bullied in the nba. he looks a stick figure with his horrible frame. maybe he can be a middle class man's channing frye or a taller charlie v, but i think his future is on the perimeter as a stretch 4.

Probably so but as long as he plays team defense you can probably live with that for a while with Noah, Gibson and Boozer.
Wasn't Tyson Chandler about that skinny at that age? Not saying he'll be Tyson defensively. but he also should be much better offensively.

tyson was skinny too, but he also had the mobility and agility of a SF to make up for his lack of bulk to a degree. austin doesn't have that either. austin is rail thin with a bad frame and lacks quickness too. that is not a good combination of physical attributes to have for a "big"

I haven't extensively scouted him or anything but in the Iowa game he seemed preety damn quick for being 7'1". I'll have to take a closer look as the draft approaches.
