I can understand the Gorgui Dieng fascination . Its a safe pick.

If we draft him I won't be doing cartwheels but I won't be displeased either.

But there's another 23 year old I really want

I want Luke Hancock ( if he declares ) If we can get him in the 2nd round . Great.

If not I would try and get another pick in the late 1st round by dangling Marquis Teague

Perfect wing player for us and better wing/guard vet minimum options in 2nd string ..like Morrow, Budinger, Casspi. Even Bellinelli IMO etc

I wouldnt say better than Korver ...but I do like his versatility , and , I do like his on court demeanor

Good rotation capacity

I'd want Luke Hancock is he shoots 80% from three the rest of his career too. Come on now, Hancock for obvious reasons isn't a pro at the next level. If you want to throw one or two game sample sizes at me, fine. His skill set is poor, he's not a great shooter, he's got a slow release and he doesn't really handle the rock well. Hell, Russ Smith, you know his teammate who is a great defender and can get to the rim, is going to be a second round pick.

If all the maybe's join the draft GRIII, Harris, McGary etc. all go in the draft then I think the Bulls will have a shot at getting a really good player or being able to trade up and get one.

It's been said before that the draft is barren at the top, but I'm serious, there are really some quality players to be had from 15-25.

I like the idea of Dieng in round 1 and Hardaway Jr or Deshaun Thomas in round 2. I like how those two can shoot the 3 ball and space the floor.

Ricky Ledo is entering the draft. Watch tape, guys. You'll fall in love.

If we can come out of this draft with Ledo and Dieng, that'd prove to be our best draft since Derrick Rose.

I wouldn't be upset with Caldwell-Pope at all. Butler/Deng with Caldwell-Pope off the bench next year could be nice.

There's always "quality to be found" in the middle of a draft. You know what else is there? Absolute and utter garbage. No draft that lacks top end talent is ever that deep; rather, you're just seeing guys who aren't that much worse than guys go 5 and you say "huh, not bad" but in fact, they're both bad.

Why do people always say that the draft is so bad when good teams (Bulls,SAS,OKC) can always find servicable talent.

People always say this, but not a damn chance in hell I'm ok with competing for a title and getting by with a mid first round pick, rookie unknown, as a rotation guy.

I still think CJ McCollum is going to be a solid player in the NBA and if he gets bigger and stronger, he can potentially become a starting SG in the league.

The signing of Malcolm Thomas for 2 years makes me want Dieng even less now. I'm hoping a big time talent like Goodwin or Adams falls to me or I'm trading the hell outta this draft.

He won't get very many minutes if he can't play. Hinrich will take minutes at the 2 until he's ready.

So really the rotation would be

Butler Hinrich Pope
Deng Butler Pope

At least for a year.

And if he can ball who cares wether he's known or not, or where he goes in the draft?

We should draft DJ Stephens in the 2nd round just for the heck of it.

We might be able to pick him up on the cheap after he goes undrafted.

If Steven Adams or Archie Goodwin is on the board, there's no way you can take Dieng over them. Even though Glen Robinson III still needs a lot of work, I'd even ponder him for his upside.

Personally, I dont think Adams will be that great. Dieng is a great fit in Thibs system. Archie is legit, though he is projected 2nd round at the moment.

If Dieng is a great fit in Thibs system then Adams is a bonerific fit in Thibs system.

I'm seriously getting frustrated by the lack of respect for him on this board. I'm done with you guys on Ledo.

Drafts are defined by All Stars and franchise talents, not by the rotations players it produces deeper in the draft

No I dont expect him to shoot 80% from 3 for the rest of his career ( but that would be nice ) but I want him :

1. Because he was a 40% 3 point shooter from College 3 this season and 42% overall from the field

2. Because he showed me enough in both Final 4 games he is not afraid to drive off a pump fake and finish with either left or right

3. Because he is 80% plus free throw shooter

4. Because he can hit the corner 3 on collapsing defenses on the penetrating dribble drive guard

5. Because ...not just in one game , but in two games , he consistently rose to the big moment.

6. Because he looks like Kevin Love and that's the closest we'll ever get

If we could flip Marquis Teague for him or take him as a 2nd rounder ...its on like Donkey Kong
