Can I just point out the irony of Knicks fans trying to convince us that Phil Jackson is the $#1L?

As much of an odd-couple he and Melo may seem I think there's a true connection it seems

It's actually reminding me of Chris Paul and Doc Rivers last year where they both wanted each other and the Clippers made it happen

:o :o :cuddle :cuddle

Kevin McHale coached teams ('08,'09 Minny; 2011-present Houston) have finished no better than no.19 for opponent PPG. They've hovered around 21-23 with a 28 one year.

Thibs? Well, we know it's top 5 every year. Top 5 with bums on the court.

Put that **** on a billboard. Perfect fit man. Perfect.

Defense does not win championships but it helps. You can't win a ring in the NBA today only scoring 70 points in games. That's not going to cut it against the elite teams. It's about buckets and defense.

You're not gonna win championships giving up 103 ppg either which the Rockets did.

PPG isn't really the best indicator of team defense. Teams play at different paces. The Rockets run and score so much that teams are going to get more attempts and points as a result. When you look at opponents fg% the Rockets were 7th in the league. They are far from a great defensive team but they are above average with Howard in the middle.

I never said it would lol. That is why we are bringing in a defensive mind assistant coach. Defense can be taught.

Melo should sit down and think

If the Knicks and Bulls traded places would he leave the Bulls for the Knicks

I think he'd rather work with Thibs than Phil tbh

Again, I hope you're right.

Meanwhile, in the Rockets meeting McHale was drawing up ISO plays on a napkin.

While Carmelo Anthony gave off the impression if would not be easy to leave NY, he also said in Rockets meeting his 1st priority is to win.

Never saw him but presumably.

Dwight went Houston and attributes a lot of that to McHale and his ability to help Dwight's game.

McHale can't help Melo. Only Carlisle and Thibs can.

Thought the same thing. The tone in their voices didn't seem convincing. I'm cautiously optimistic they didn't deliver a good pitch.
