Drafts are defined by All Stars and franchise talents, not by the rotations players it produces deeper in the draft

*edit* not trying to be condescending.
the bulls drafted Jimmy Butler in a weak draft, why does it matter what the draft is defined by when you can get players with the impact of Butler with the 30th pick?

now the bulls are armed with a 20ish pick, we're not expecting an all star franchise talent. We need players who can step in and make an impact, similar to what butler's doing now. All at low controlled cost for 4 years.

When you are the Bulls and Spurs, you should be happy with any pick you have. When it is in the top 20, you should be extremely happy. The Bulls can draft and if they stick by what works for them, they will end up with a good player. Also I think picking 10 spots up this year that we can get a rotation player too.

Ledo's interesting if you want to swing for the fences. He's always been highly regarded as a high school prospect. At 6'6'6'7 he's got the handles, shot creating ability down. He can make some shots, though I wouldn't consider him a great shooter. The biggest thing is that scouts never got to see him in college because of the ineligibility, so you're basically drafting a player out of high school. He's one of those players that seems like he would impress a lot in workouts and boost his stock.

I don't think I could draft him with our pick, but if he panned out...what a steal, and what a scorer to solve a lot of problems.

Also, Tony Snell is a steal in late first round in my opinion. Needs to be more aggressive, but at 6'7, has long wing-span, good athleticism, can handle the ball well, and can shoot off the move or drive-n-kick.

Yep. I'm on the Snell or Goodwin bandwagon.

I fear he'll play himself into the lottery. Just a guess though.

Wow, Ford doesn't have Goodwin in his first round (for comparison DX has him 19th) so it will be interesting to see where that shakes out, closer to Ford or closer to DX. I think 19 is literally all about value and it's not like I'd be too disappointed in who the Bulls drafted.

I saw that too. IMO Goodwin is a boom or bust and I think the Bulls will go for a more established guy. I like Goodwin though, but I just don't see him being the Paxson type of pick. I like Caldwell-Pope and think he could battle for a rotation spot his rookie season. Something just tells me it's going to be Dieng or Withey in the draft. They just seem like a Paxson type of pick.

There's the rub. He hits on guys but we can never seem to find offensive guyS that can help reduce the flaws of this roster.

Jimmy is proving to have some offense and he did draft Rose, Gordon, Deng and Nikola. Regardless of offense or defense, they just want guys who are dedicated to put the work in. Tyrus & Johnson IMO didn't have that.

I give him credit for Gordon, and Deng.

Rose was a no brainer

Nikola has not played one second so he has not done a thing.

Nice revisionist history there.

Sure, it's easy to call it a no brainer now, five years after the fact where the guy the Bulls drafted became the youngest MVP in league history and the other guy is on his third team, but Rose vs Beasley was very much a topic for debate back in 2008.

Still rooting for wins, but losses aren't the worst thing in the world. Perhaps the optimal strategy is hoping the Blackhawks are on at the same time.

A topic IMO that was dumb. Beasley had a great college season, but IMO it was a no-brainer even during the NCAA tournament, for whomever would pick #1.

Rose was a no brainer. Some idiots like Beasley. Some idiots wanted Ryan Leaf over Peyton Manning back in the day. Manning another no Brainer

Lol

Well right now Rose over Beasely is a no-brainier. But at the time of the draft it was debatable because of the numbers Beasely put up. But I was sold on Rose when he had that marvelous performance in the NCAA tournament. I saw a superstar in the making. With us ending up with him, we are so blessed. But yes I was for Rose before the 2008 draft.
