Sources continue to indicate that the Chicago Bulls are not aggressively pursuing a trade for Kevin Love and have made no formal offers.

The Bulls were rumored to have made an offer of Taj Gibson, Nikola Mirotic and Doug McDermott to the Minnesota Timberwolves.

I will say that my conflict in this story was always that Gasol was going to end up coming off the bench if a Love trade was made. I don't think Gasol would have signed here had that been as possibility.

that is pretty much what I expected. I DO NOT think the floated offer was out there, I highly suspect that was spin, most likely from Minny. Would the bulls like love? I bet they would, but on their terms.

I think the love thing is going to end messily. It should be interesting...

Damn, sounds like this offer is starting to gain some traction. KC reporting that nothing is on the table, which means something IS on the table!

I view KC as more reliable than not.

That's a foolish way to think knowing our front office.

They will certainly not give up too much to acquire Love, especially with his intentions of wanting to be a free agent after next season.

The next time I believe KC Johnson on anything big relating to the Bulls, will be the first time.

He writes about the team, he does not start rumors.

I'll believe KC over Cowley anyday.

Aggrey Sam is the most reliable, IMO. He actually broke the Aaron Brooks stuff before anyone else.

KC is always the one who waits for Woj to tweet something newsworthy about the Bulls before chiming in.

Do we honestly believe that GarPax has an offer on the table for involving Mirotic & McDermott? 2 guys who've freshly signed their contracts, Mirotic especially being assured that he will not be traded.

It's extremely far-fetched knowing the front office's track record.

KC's biggest problem is he's employed as a local beat writer. Everyone remembers when he's been wrong...

Realgm "insiders" followers seem to only recall when the "insiders" poo actually stuck, forgetting the other 99% that slowly slid down the wall leaving only the bad stink of baseless posts.

Yes and no....

I do think we put an offer on the table. But I also think we don't want to make it public, because if it does not go down, they look like butt-holes for putting the offers out there (especially for Mitoric). I do think that if Pax was the sole guy in charge, the offer would never have been out there...but Gar has a bit more....."slime" to him....

How many times has a GM ever said. "You know what, we just went though the draft and free agency....and frankly I'm not happy with the job I just did that I get paid a lot to do. You guys I just signed and drafted...you guys aint gonna get it done. My bad... Rent, don't buy".

That's definitely true but how many fans, realgm posters, Chicagoans, etc, would despute the fact that they honestly like the group we've gotten this summer.

It's one thing for a gm or owner to say they like the direction of the team or the players even though that might not be the case, but in this situation they actually got a potentially great group of guys & IF healthy will be serious contenders.

How can you not say "We really like the group we have"?

Paxson & Forman have proven to be very respectable, loyal guys. I doubt they'd risk that unless Love fell in their laps.

Good. As I suspected. Now we can see what we have in Snell, Mc3 and Niko. If we need more then we make a deal with Taj at the deadline.

Cavs grab Love and lets buckle up for a ECF showdown.

Oh I'm pretty sure they actually do like the guys that they have. They traded up to get McD, and they have waited a long time for Mitoric. I think they could be fine players.
I'm just saying, I would not expect them to say anything different. They liked the guys they had in 2010-11 even though everyone and their mom could see the Keith Bogans sucked and a SG was needed. GM's almost always say they like the group that they have because they are usually responsible for putting that group together...and it does no good to say anything differently.

And that is why I do not believe they trade them w/o playing a single minute.

I think that is our plan. Lets start the season with what we got and then at the deadline if there is a move that puts us over the top we make it.

We have enough depth and assets to do so.

And there is always multiple players that want out of a poor situation to play for a contender at the break.
