Let's remember that McDermott and Mirotic are not similar to Jimmy Butler and Teague in their first years. It is not as an easy decision to trade two first round rookies like McDermott/Mirotic(with both of them having great potential) compared to Butler/Teague(in their first year). The value is very high for both these guys in the league and for the Bulls organization for a long time.

As much as we all like championships, sustained success is what franchises value.

It is not a simple decision as it is talked about. The reality is the Bulls are not the type of organization which will dump all their assets for a risk(an unsigned Love).

Cavs grab Love and lets buckle up for a ECF showdown.

I think that is our plan. Lets start the season with what we got and then at the deadline if there is a move that puts us over the top we make it.
We have enough depth and assets to do so.

And there is always multiple players that want out of a poor situation to play for a contender at the break.

The thing is....we have never done that.

This is exactly where I am at. The cost is high now for the Bulls compared to what it was before the draft. It is not such a winning move it would have been before the draft because of the salary matching capacity the Bulls had.

KC and the "piss on my sunshine" band is back with tweets that don't even make sense.

So, we were big on Love when had Boozer? How is that possible when Melo was far, far, far and away our #1 target and we were either going to try to S&T to get him or amnesty Boozer?

I though Melo was our plan A and Gasol was our so called plan B? Where would Love fit in? Plan C prior to plan B taking place?

I hate that type of non-sensical garbage...

BTW, when you look through the old threads, Love was far and away MY #1 target over Melo. I used the term "bird in the hand" quite a bit.

Oh....and what difference does it make if we would have traded for him now or a month ago if the issue is still his extension? LOL..

I guess people have short memories....

MT: @WindhorstESPN just told us "it's 99% & the ball is on the 1 yard line." On a Kevin Love deal to Cleveland. @ESPN1100

That sucks...

And that probably explains the "Oh, we were never really all that intersted. We like our guys..." quotes and leaks now coming out.

We were probably interested, but I don't think we were willing to give a lot for Love. Just shows how much the F.O. value Mirotic and McDermott.

There was also the word from Doug himself that Gar told his agent that he wasn't going to be traded long before this current report.

Bennett was pulled from a pro-am game that he was scheduled to attend, but Waiters is playing for the Team USA Select Team. Looks like it's going to be Wiggins, Bennett and picks for Love, with maybe some extras if Minn was able to fold a salary dump or two into the deal. Not Waiters, probably not Thompson. If so, this is not the gutting of the Cavs that we hoped for.

Good finally we can move on from this thread. We all knew we weren't getting him when Taj was told not to listen to the rumors and they basically said there was a low chance Mirotic would be traded after what he went through to get here.

Sweet, now that the Melo drama is over and the summer of Love seems to be coming to an end, this board can get back to normal topics. Topics such as how the FO need to be fired, Rose doesn't have enough help, and we'll never beat Mia...err...Cleveland.

Seriously though, if Wiggins is in a deal for Love Minnesota would be crazy to pass on it. It's a name to sell the fans on and a cheap contract for many years. How many fans here were ready to get rid of everyone on our roster just for the chance at Wiggins or Parker this past season? Losing Love hurts (my heart aches) Minnesota, but gaining the potential and hope of a young stud is the best replacement they could hope for.

This is the guy that told us that Kyrie wasn't re-signing with the Cavs, and that LeBron wasn't coming back because he didn't want to play with Kyrie.

Chicago is still in the hunt.

Maybe it's a misquote and he meant the ball is on the 1 yd line with 99 to go?

If that's all they would have to give up for Love I'd be extremely disappointed in Flip Saunders. That'd be highway robbery.

I'd be shocked if Waiters and/or Thompson aren't in that deal. If it's only Wiggins, Bennett and picks why wasn't this deal done when the Cavs initially offered Wiggins?

Minny don't want Bennett at all, I'm assuming the hold-up is getting a third team involved to take Bennett. Waiters could still be traded as well, and maybe to Philly.
