Whilst i've poked fun at Johnson in the past, and yes, he has gotten things wrong like the Deng trade or the use of the MMLE in 2013-14, but i believe him here.

I don't think the Bulls are serious about Kevin Love. If they were, things would have been moving.

I feel like if they were ever really going hard for Love we wouldn't even have this as a topic because he would already be a Bull. I think Bulls are trying to just see what salary dump guys they can get out of this.

You can say the same for Cleveland.

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Flip just kept Love until the trade deadline.

I hope he doesn't because this thread may hit 100 by then.

Based on how slow this thread is moving, there's likely nothing to see here.

Not for the Bulls, anyway.

When he goes to Cleveland for Wiggins and Bennett and Martin gets dumped to a 3rd party, this thread will explode with the typical 'it's all over' type nonsense.

Give it time.

To be fair though, if the Cavs get Love and we aren't involved to at least upgrade at one of our wing spots, it is a big leapfrog.

If we somehow got involved to get Martin, I think it's a wash.

I'll be holding off judgement until i see what Cleveland give up. If they gut their team to get Love, i honestly won't care.

It will still take them 1-2 seasons to build a bench should that happen, especially as Allen, Miller & Jones are almost out the league through retirement.

They're too guard heavy.

Damn I never knew Jones was 33. I agree though if they get Love I doubt they win year 1 and then after this year they have to deal with TT and possibly there 3 shooters retiring or breaking down.

Another thing to consider, should they land Love.

How will he go playing center?

I am assuming that they will still want to run smaller lineups too make use of virtually the same time of player they acquired in Allen, Miller & Jones.

Irving, Waiters, Miller, Lebron, Love

With Bosh, he wasn't an elite defender, but the guy could still swat a few shots away and at least challenge down low.

Is Love capable of that or prepared to become that type of player?

I know a lot of people will fear that potential offensive output, but those types of line ups won't be able to guard a tree.

If they go with your more traditional line ups by keeping Lebron at the 3 and Love at the 4, this is their only chance if they want to have enough balance to get it done, but it means that 'depth' is reduced because guys like Miller, Allen & Jones are not seeing many minutes at the SF spot should Lebron play the bulk of his minutes there.

They have flaws that can be exposed, especially in their first 1-2 seasons together.

people don't consider that when talking about that team. Yet to see someone answer the defensive struggles that team would have to overcome. That starting lineup you just threw out there only has 1 defender worth mentioning and 1 meh defender and that's enough to stop teams with offensive weapons from killing you.

Yes they do according to RealGM trade checker. If you use ESPN's, it's not up to date.
