Gone have to be happy with Wendell Carter the way this is going.

I know.... :noway: It would be painful if they took another lumbering offensive big man, crowded the rotation furthermore.

I'm OK with Bamba because I'm convinced he'll be Gobert-lite at worst, and that guy makes an immediate defensive impact with his absolutely mind-boggling wing-span.

But beyond that, IMO we need guard talent. Shot makers, dribbling wizards, and creators.

I'm in the boat that thinks it'd be a mistake to "marry Kris Dunn" just because he was an "important piece" in the Jimmy trade. I acknowledge he's improved, but we're gonna hit a wall in 2 years if we have a PG who isn't a scoring machine. Just the way I see it. I find it no coincidence that the past 5 years, the top-5 teams every season have had offensive wizards at the point.

(Kyrie, Curry, Harden/Paul, Lowry, healthy Isaiah, Lillard, Westbrook -- Spurs maybe being the only exception, although they still had a functioning Tony Parker and quite a push from Mills during their last finals runs in '13 & '14)

But the nice thing about Dunn is he has the skill and size to guard wings, so I can see him in a nice 3-guard rotation. So with that said, I'd be behind Young or Sexton if they were at 9-10. Much sooner than Wendell Carter.

Shai doing Shai stuff (!!!) and Knox doing Knox stuff (meh) again today.

I'm guessing their draft projections flip flop by June.

Holiday is gonna be good. That entire video is full of NBA moves. He sees the entire floor, uses the p&r in a variety of ways, has a quick jumper either off the dribble or on the catch, he’s strong and can finish with both hands. His skill set will transfer seamlessly.

Yeah, Aaron looks like he will continue the tradition of the Holiday brothers being good.

Shai has been great. It’s easy to see him as a good NBA player.

If the Knicks don't win a top 3 pick (and maybe if they win #2 or 3), I see them taking Young with their pick. So if they end up jumping us at #8, and Trae is on the board, I would be shocked if they don't take him.

I thoroughly enjoyed the Villanova game to win the Big East tournament. I've watched Villanova more than I have any other college team this year, mostly due to how often the networks show their games. Mikal has impressed me all year. I've only seen him struggle in one game I've watched. Especially toward the end of this season he has really stepped up. His defense is elite. He has good range on his shot, an above average BBIQ. He's been well coached, and played in a very tough conference. But what really stood out to me in Saturday's game was his poise under pressure. You can't teach that, nor can you practice it. You have it or you don't. And he's got it. Stepping up under pressure on the big stage...National TV in Madison Square Garden. The kid is ready to start from Day 1. If we get lucky in the Lottery we can take one of the elite bigs. But if we are at 8 or 9 I'd be very happy to see a Bulls uniform on this kid.

Well they did us two huge favors in taking Rose and Noah off our hands. They can continue helping us by taking Young.

I'm down for trading Lavine and the NO pick to move into the top 12 so we don't have to pay him.

No doubt. So, for me, them jumping us isn't a huge deal and might actually save us from what I believe would be a mistake. Either way though, I've always kind of had Mikal Bridges in the back of my mind as the consolation prize at 8 or 9, and now I'm growing convinced he won't be there. Even assuming Young goes at 8, how is Bridges there at 9?

Ayton
Doncic
Bagley
JJJ
Porter
Bamba
M. Bridges
Young - Knicks

So in order for us to get Bridges at 9, someone would have to take Carter or Sexton instead of him in that top 8. I suppose it could happen, but as I said I don't see a market for 2 point guards in that top 8. I just can't see Sexton AND Young going that high given the teams that are there. They just don't need point guards, and these guys aren't good enough to completely throw team need out the window.

So really it would have to be Carter that someone falls in love with. Which I suppose is possible. But Bridges is setting the world on fire right now. Ah, fiddlesticks!

Maybe The Bulls can get him with the Pelicans pick...?

What team do you think might be interested in a trade like this? And who would you target with the pick?

You can't move a free agent during the draft.

Or the Bulls pick, the way things are headed.

Texas and Oklahoma (and Missouri) make the NCAA tournament. So that's at least one more game for Bamba, Young, and Porter, pending injuries.

Who are the highest ceiling guys that might be available in the 7-10 range? What about this Musa guy? Or Troy Brown or someone. I'm totally ignorant.

Yeah I watched Knox for a couple minutes in today's game for the first time and was completely unimpressed.

Most of the big names, both Bridges, Carter, are probably the highest ceiling guys. Knox has a pretty high ceiling in theory but I would not trust him to reach it.

Deandre Hunter is a very interesting talent who draft experts think has really high two-way potential. Thing is, he's at Virginia, and people aren't sure if he'll declare. You'd hope if he was taken that high that he wouldn't say no.

I also think Lonnie Walker has a high ceiling, though some think his decision making/IQ holds him back a bit. Still, love the tools, think he could be a really strong player.

Brown or Musa are two guys I would say are high floor, modest ceiling. Musa can really score the ball but he doesn't really do anything else on the floor, Brown's a bit of a jack of all trades wing but he's unathletic.

Whatever your pick, it's a big dropoff from the top group of prospects ceiling wise.

Sounds pretty consensus at the moment that it's a 6 player draft, no?

If Lonnie Walker has an underwhelming tournament how much does his stock fall? There's still only 2 games separating the Pels and the next 10 teams in the standings. I recognize it's looking more and more like a pipe dream, but I'd be ecstatic to come out of this tank race of a season with Bamba/Mikal and Lonnie. I miss Chicago brand defense.

I'd feel comfortable adding Mikal Bridges to that. And I'm 50/50 on Carter being included in that upper echelon too. Some will have Young in there and there's maybe even a few that'd put Sexton that high.
