At this point that's all you can do, fine the Nets. The point where it can affect the outcome of the game was on the officials during the game. At this point it's a blown call by the officials, which happens all the time. The NBA releases last 2 minute reports of blown calls that would have swung games one way or another, they don't ever go back and change Ws to Ls.

Basically it's just another example of NBA officials missing obvious calls.

The league won't do it, but I would be delighted to see it take 2 points away from the Nets, thereby awarding the victory to Washington.

@ShamsCharania: Nets assistant coach David Vanterpool has been fined $10,000 and the Nets’ organization has been fined $25,000 for Vanterpool interfering with live play on Wednesday night.

Very weak stuff by the league. It just sent the message that cheating is worth it.

Hear ye, hear ye! A message from the league! We are now pay-to-win! Price for a regular season win is $35,000! Hear ye, hear ye!
From the basketball's perspective, travel is a nice pause from being pounded to the floor.

The Nets just becoming more dislikeable - alongside Adam Silver. That is a weak message sent by the NBA - but no surprise as it is their sweetheart Nets team.

Like the Wiz coach said in his Post-Game - I have never seen anything like that before. Other than JKidds deal with spilling his drink on the court. What was that Assistant Coach thinking. How the ref didn't do anything about it in the game is Bush League stuff.

adam silver was never likable to me. not even when he called the 2nd round of the draft. and ever since he is commisioner he's screwing with the nba and of course he hates the bulls with a passion.

I read somewhere that he's one of the worst in hitting shots in the clutch, so that's not surprising.

Maybe I missed it, but I didn't see any comments about Jokic's game on Wednesday night. Jokic went 37/12/7 ... in the second half alone. OK it was the second half plus one overtime, but still. I have never heard of such a thing.

This clip shows most of what he did. Beyond astonishing. This guy is to ordinary All Stars as ordinary All Stars are to 10th men.

He's a fun player to watch. It's a shame that the Nuggets have been hit with so many injuries the past year or so.

If his team had stayed healthy, a good chance he would win his 2nd MVP this season. He's leading the league in all the advanced stats, and 26/14/7 per game ain't bad for basic stats, either.

NBA refs are absolute **** worthless and it makes me vomit when commentators on TV always suck em off about how "good they are at their jobs." **** clowns.
Refs in all major sports are hot garbage these days. It's not just an NBA problem. The fact that it's still a problem implies that the leagues are fine with it.

Blazers win again. I can see them getting that 8th seed.

Bulls aren't the only cold shooting team tonight. Jayson Tatum is actually 0 for his last 20 three pointers.

Man, the East is so tough this year. The Hornets are 3.5 games behind the Nets. Nothing is guaranteed, every game matters.

Lakers trying to push all the remaining chips in on Grant. All their chips left are THT and a 2027 pick. That team is screwed for the near future.

Yeah don’t bite on that, Detroit.

We could easily beat that if we want to with Pat + DJJ + Portland pick - but obviously one of the more controversial topics this year.

82 games is insane when you think of how fast the game is played nowadays.

There shouldn't be any sets of back to back games. Everyone knows that the human body needs at least two days to properly recover.

from playing basketball for 35 minutes? pros practice hard and do physical conditioning too. that's probably at least as physically taxing as game night. should that stuff be banned on off days?

i DO think that back-to-backs should be same building only (both at home or both on the road lakers/clippers). air travel is bad for recovery. i find it hard to believe that such a requirement would places undue burden on the schedulers

There's nothing like actual game conditions.

35 minutes of NBA game speed and physical contact is unlike any other 35 minutes most humans experience.

this is plainly false given that there are and have been nba players who aren't in great physical condition. particularly big men

as dennis rodman once said, "it's only 94 feet"

anybody who has ever played tackle football at any level would surely disagree with you as well. nba players don't get CTE

There's no point to back-to-back games except for the league trying to squeeze in as many games it can to generate more revenue.

Is extra revenue worth player health, safety and performance? Especially when the money teams lose out on when prominent players go down with injuries probably negates that extra revenue?

the league and the players seem to agree that it is
God help Ukraine
God help those fleeing misery to come here
God help the Middle East
God help the climate
God help US health care

So, after Grayson Allen's flagrant 2 on Caruso, the Bucks decide that this is a good idea.

Markkanen has reached double figures in eight of 10 games in January. He is shooting 50% from the field and 41.4% from beyond the arc this month. And in more than 1,100 minutes this season with Markkanen on the court, the Cavs have an offensive rating of 115.8, which would rank second in the NBA. With him off the court, it plummets to 106.7, which would be fourth worst. The same discrepancy is shown when Cleveland’s other two bigs -- Mobley and Allen -- play without Markkanen, ranking in just the fourth percentile when it comes to offensive rating (99.8). With all three together, the Cavs score around 10 points more per 100 possessions, boasting an offensive rating of 109.2.

Lauri's still making an impact even if his raw numbers don't show it
