What in the world are folks thinking talking about firsts, and what not? They’re going to waste years of Embiid’s fragile prime?

No way. If they trade Simmons, it’s for an established star. For us, that means Zach Lavine, or they’re hanging up the phone. I don’t see the point there.

I’d sooner expect something built around Dame for Simmons.

With his injury history, it might be smarter to actually trade Embiid at his peak right now. Haven’t given it much thought, but would love to hear ideas on crazy hauls they could get from around the league.

No, it's not and the Bulls will land him!

That's the sort of trade I would have hoped for but I don't think we could have matched what BOS got. Moses Brown is pretty good, Horford is a decent bench player still. Would we trade White and Thad for that - probably, but Kemba is a big gamble.

That was a cap saving move...

So the Thunder get another First Rounder this year. That makes 3 at least, and possibly a 4th if Golden State's pick is outside the Top 20. They also have 2 Second Rounders. They obviously will be making more moves. I can't conceive that they would draft 3 (or 4) First Round Picks in the same draft. And it means they have virtually no need to sign Micic. So Micic should be obtainable by the Bulls for comparatively very little in return. If The Thunder get really lucky and get to draft Cade or Suggs I have to think Kemba would be relegated to the bench. Maledon is up and coming as well. I have to say, I am one or two bad moves by the Bulls from becoming a Thunder fan. And when we retire next year we'll only be about 3 and 1/2 hours drive from OKC.

I still dont know what OKC is actually doing. They had a million draft picks before. Now they have a million +2

I would say Boston was doing a salary dump and starting over. I also cant see Kemba staying there long either.

Its almost like their GM is doing a Sam Hinkie but without the high range asset return and the hardcore tanking.

They probably view Kemba as a net negative due to his availability and apparently team-fit issues, while Tatum and Brown apparently loved Horford, and they may thing that Moses is as good as anything they'll get with 16.

I figure that’s it in a nutshell. They have plenty of young, meh players they are probably hoping to improve as it is. They likely don’t have time to then add the needs of yet another likely to be meh rookie. With a guy like Brown, there’s upside, and you aren’t starting from ground zero.

Glad to hear Kemba is no longer available as AK’s next “all in” move.

Moving on from Al Horford and being the team that gets a first rounder back is…something. I honestly didn’t think Kemba was that kind of negative asset.

I think the plan is to trade up if they get screwed by the lotto.

For Okc I think they can rehab Kemba, he is an ok fit with SGA. Desperate move for Boston though

Why are trades allowed from now ? Doesn’t make any sense with the playoffs being currently played. What if a playoff team wanted to get in on this deal?

Milwaukee won by 20 but I still am not terribly impressed. A strong defensive and rebounding team, but lacking that final something. Part of that is Giannis's late game problems, in that he can't make free throws, and part of that is my uncertainty that Middleton can deliver big when it matters. I guess it's mostly the latter, if Middleton keeps playing like he has recently then the Bucks are for real.

The Nets look really bad. Fully credit to Durant, without him going crazy in Game #5 they would be dead already. But after the Dinwiddie injury and Harden trade, this team always was going to win or lose on its Big Three, and right now it really just has One. That's not going to get it done.

The deal won’t be completed until the offseason, but you can always agree on a deal before that.

Well Boston's and OKC's seasons are been over, so they can make this deal.

They can reach an agreement, but trades can’t be completed until August 6 this year. Even draft-day trades are technically not completed until then.

Of course he is available. Or do you think OKC is looking at him as a core piece in a rebuild around SGA? No way, he will be moved again, just as they have moved other highly paid vets.

1) holiday isn't that much better than bledsoe
2) adams and bledsoe are due a COMBINED 70-75 mil over then next 2 seasons. holiday is due 134 mil over the next 4 seasons. so much for a cap killer. it was actually huge cap relief for the pelicans
3) the pelicans additionally got four first rounders in the deal!

absolute theft. that bledsoe had a bad year doesn't change that. lonzo and bledsoe is a horrible fit for a backcourt combo

That is absolutely direspectful. Jrue is a damn good player. Bledsoe is solid but not near Jrue.

and yet the bucks were significantly worse this season while the pelicans are about the same

17/4/7/3to 53%ts
18/5/6/3to 55%ts

those are the career per 36 numbers. does it really matter which is which? if anything, it is bledsoe's defense that gets disrespected. at half the price

Jrue was brought in to help stabilize the PG situation in Milwaukee, which he did, he plays insanely good defense and helps add grit to their team.
The Bucks shuffled quite a bit of their roster to prepare for a post season run and Jrue is paying off in a big way for them.
So no, the Bucks were not "significantly worse" this year. They built their team for the post season.

OKC flips pricey vets like a real estate agent flips fixer uppers.
