I’ve mentioned it before but I think Rasheed shaheed would be an excellent acquisition. Hes one of the best returners in the nfl and he has explosive deep threat ability, which Johnson would love. I assume a 4th would be enough but we might have to get creative since we don’t have one.

Jauron was also a very good safety, mainly for the Lions. He was born in Peoria. Sorry to see him go.

So there is this story on the interwebs where some Jacksonville reporter alleged that Caleb could not get Shane Waldron to break down film with him, and Caleb ended up hiring outside help to do it on his own. This story is at odds with the earlier reports that Caleb was confused on the field because he didn’t do enough homework study. I don’t know what to try and believe, but the earlier reports didn’t quite sync up with how Caleb came off in front of the cameras. I.e. extremely thoughtful and responsible.

Seen it as well. Hard to believe that level and incompetence but it would be consistent with the other hard to believe stories about waldrons incompetence

I honestly don’t think I’ve heard one positive thing about Waldron. I can only assume he’s fallen up his entire career or is highly knowledgeable but has zero ability to implement ideas or communicate them.

What a disaster he was.

It's definitely weird. I would guess he's a genuinely smart guy and a lot of his stuff is probably good in theory. Everyone loved the two TEs in the backfield thing. He just seems like the ultimate version of a awkward, none people person, person. the most I know about him is that he was OC in Seattle and offensive assistant with McVay, but I would not be surprised at all if he didn't have coaching experience outside of that and that he's a analytics hire

Poles and Eberflus together were a disaster hiring coaches. One is fired, the other extended. I don’t understand why one is extended, I assume it is because of Warren’s devotion to organizational “continuity”. I imagine a brand new scouting department right now on top of new coaches would be awkward (but I don’t see how it could be a lot worse). Anyway, other than Bieniemy, it outwardly appears that Allen and Ben are calling the new list of coaches, and that can only be better than the recent past.

i think it probably has something to do with the very expensive head coach they just hired who emphasized the importance of alignment with the front office

That does not necessarily mean alignment with Poles. And maybe pulling the Ben Johnson hiring off helped Poles in Warren’s eyes. Honestly, again I believe Warren preached organizational continuity, and sold it to Ben, and Ben doesn’t have anything against Poles right now just yet. Under these conditions, if I am Warren, I would still have given Poles the next season to see if Poles showed he can get his **** together before anything else happens, but that’s just me. Be that as it may, at least one benefit will be that unlike Ryan Pace’s lame duck decision-making, Ryan Poles’ decision-making this spring and winter might have more sound thinking based on having a long term outlook. Hope. If the Bears are acquiring Myles Garrett, then that hope is dashed.

The Anne Hathaway camera shot was way better than the Swift. This has the potential as the best blowout since ‘85. That said the Chiefs just scored.
