My mantra when Cleveland eventually gets Love and to all FAs/players : If they ain't on my team, the hell with them.

2014-2015 Cleveland Cavaliers - All NBA No Defense.

I'm thinking more; 2015 Cleveland Cavaliers=Eastern Conference OKC Thunder, but perhaps with better coaching.

How about we leave it at this. Even if they get Love there is no guarantee they get far or even stay healthy enough to contend. Let's just be pleased with what we have because this is most likely what we're going into the season with.

I'm intrigued with what's gonna happen to Taj come trade deadline......

Unless someone really good is available I think he stays put. Or unless we start losing more than expected.

Taj will be here forever and forever get overpaid and have fans overrate him. Ugh.

Are we at the stage now where we pretend rumors from an "insider" were fact and we start insulting the FO for being trigger shy or too in love with their own players? That's my favorite part.

I agree with 90% of that.
I agree that there are indeed no guarantees. While they might be the favorite, anything can happen. That is why the games are played. A simple non-contact jump stop can change the direction of a franchise.

I also agree that this is most likely what we are going into the season with, so we might as well get behind it.

The only thing I don't agree with is being pleased with it. Considering the lofty goals and all of the assets available going into the off season....I'm far from pleased. But it is what it is...

We don't care if you have the top player in the league and are getting Kevin Love too. We're going to kick your ass anyway. Because we are tougher meaner have more character and want it more than you do. We don't care if espn and the lame pundits think you're better. We're going to prove it on the court. EF off. It'll be so sweet when we dump you in six.

THATS the attitude you're supposed to have as a Bulls fan. Being a realist is just playing it safe. Being a fan is balls out defiance.

LOL!

Yeah....ummmm....no

That sounds like some Knicks fan type stuff.

You pull for your team regardless. But that does not mean (to me) you run around screaming you are going to kick everyone's ass every game. Where you yelling that during the early 2000's?

You can sit back and play it safe all you want. If you don't feel the passion, you just don't feel it.

I don't think that was the case here.

I do think the spin being put out by KC will make it sound like we loved our players so much we would not do a trade...and that is easy to believe because it seems like Paxson used to be a bit too in love with his own picks. But timeline suggests (IMO) that we put an offer out there....it wasn't enough to trump a Wiggins offer....we basically figured we were out of it.......and the FO for the most part lied and said we never really put a serious offer on the table.

It would be incredibly stupid to not go after Love, especially after missing out on Melo.
But it would also serve no use what so ever to put it out there that your freshly drafted rookies were put on the block....including one you had just convinced to come over from Europe and sign. So....you say you never "really" offered them.

That is my take....

I'll just say it, Taj isn't worth his contract. He is making $3 million less than the defensive player of the year. He's pretty decent, he's not close to being an all star, and he is not worth his contract. He's a pretty decent player, no more and no less. Don't get the overhype he gets on here because around the league he is just known as a guy.

I don't think you're far off. I'm sure they at a minimum sent out feelers to Minnesota to see what it would take to acquire Love. It wouldn't shock me if they got word that Love was only interested in Cleveland and found it wasn't realistic to pursue him. Honestly, the media narrative of good guy Lebron going home is amusing. I wouldn't be at all surprised to find out he and Love did some back channel talking before anything went down. Smart move by LBJ, both PR and business wise. Far too much we don't know. It's possible they put in an offer, but Cleveland offering Wiggins trumps it from a Wolves perspective. Also possible they got word that Love wasn't an option, so no offer came after the draft.

Well.....thanks for your permission to sit back and play it safe. For a minute I thought I was going to be forced into saying something that I didn't quite believe based on the threat of bodily harm...or even worse....having to face the scorn of an anonymous person on a web forum who tells me I don't fit their own definition of a fan and that I may have run out of passion fruit smoothies or something like that. :-?

You damn straight I'm going to keep laughing. So in your opinion Taj is overrated, overpaid, and just a guy to other teams in the league. Did I get that right?
