Kings are a horrible trade parter if they were to decide to overpay Lavine and force bulls to do a sign and trade. Kings don’t really have anyone that the bulls would want except maybe Fox( I highly doubt they trade him) and maybe Heild who is just an ok but inconsistent shooting guard. Then there’s bagley who is probably also untouchable. They don’t even have a first round pick to work out some other bigger deal.

I'd be surprised if they did. Gordon is so much better than Lavine. It would be a travesty to give him $20.Ralphb07 wrote:Bulls will match Zach at 20 mil per

Not surprised at all that a bozo franchise like the kings would be the ones interested. They already have hield and bogdonivic at sg. Makes perfect sense to sign another one
There's a reason they've been in the lottery 14 straight years

Ralph you think Bulls would match max offer if I think 4/$106? Wouldn't Bulls have to match at 5/$145?

I hate to do this every single draft/off-season/trade deadline, an no offense to Ralph, but exactly what inside info have we actually received on this board from our called insiders that has come to fruition.TheJordanRule wrote:Ralphb07 wrote:Bulls will match Zach at 20 mil per
Ralph is the ultimate insider when it comes to these things. I believe Ralph when he says we will or won't do something. I'm discouraged by the fact that the FO is this high on Zach. He's a premium prospect but you don't give a draft pick type player 20 mil per year. If Zach is matched, I'll be hoping that he lives up to the contract. Betcha Zach falls far short of providing that kind of value though.

Someone explain how Lavine is close to as.good as Will Barton and why he deserves a better contract?

Kings are going all in to save face with their unprotected 2019 1st going to Philly/Boston (oh brother, the Nik Stauskas salary dump).

Any fan who followed the Baby Bulls era experienced the risks and pains that come with drafting super athletes who have low intelligence on the floor. The skepticism from fans about Zach growing into a contract that pays him 15-18 million per year over 4 years comes from the fact we watched our team drafted Tyson Chandler, Eddy Curry and Tyrus Thomas. Those players had unlimited ceilings according to all the draft experts, and although those guys really did have super high ceilings, they never realized anything close to it. So, when you guys say, "Let's pay Zach this huge amount of money and hope he turns out to be worth it!" the more experienced fan, the fan who is cognizant of how risky such a strategy actually is, says, "No freakin way!" Because if Zach doesn't improve, or only marginally improves we get stuck with a bad / poor value contract. Again, my contractual concerns are only about the long term. I'm fine with a 1+1 one year overpay, especially if it has a somewhat reasonably priced team option for the second year. In fact, I'll celebrate if we give him 25 million this season if it includes at team option for a 10 - 12 mil second season. But if Zach wants to be a knucklehead about it and force some of the horrible contracts his apologists believe he's entitled to, the FO should force him to suck on the QO or swing a sign-and-trade. You don't pay the 153rd best NBA player 2nd or 3rd option money. Not even if he's Zach freaking Lavine.

Professional career[edit]
NBA years[edit]
After attending the University of Central Oklahoma, Robinson signed as an undrafted free agent with the NBA's Charlotte Hornets in 1999. Known primarily for his leaping ability and athleticism, he averaged 7.2 points per game over two seasons as a reserve with the Hornets and attracted the attention of Chicago Bulls GM Jerry Krause, who felt that Robinson could become a star if given more playing time. Krause signed Robinson to a 5-year, US$32 million contract in 2001. In 2004, John Paxson, who replaced Krause as Bulls' general manager in 2003, convinced Bulls owner Jerry Reinsdorf to buy out the last two years of Robinson's contract.

Don't match anything.
Let him walk.
Only thing I'd accept is another 1 year prove it deal.

Not with the history of cheapness and huge cap space. Remember the not paying the europe thing. That’s not good even when its false, bad perception lingers.
I mean us fans will be okay with it (maybe some won’t) but the media will have a field day.

You are in denial. This the exact scenario that was going to play out when we traded him for while injured. He was never going to proven for deal he wanted. And no I'm not willing to let him walk so we can strike out on Butler, Irving, Thompson and Kawahi and be left holding our balls.
