Interest in Boozer?

sign me up...

getting JJ and Big Baby?...sign me up.

Boozer is awful, doesn't fit anything..doesn't hustle..doesn't mix it up...just can't stand that

Big Baby will at least sit on you and just annoy the other team with his tenacity...

JJ for 3...i'm a fan of that trade

The problem with Humphries is that would make two PFs (him and Gibson) whose style is not complementary to Rose

I don't want Noah playing PF in any scenario. C for good.

I like the Teague and filler for Reddick.

I am open to Teague for Burks.

IMO Teague won't get mins behind or next to Rose. He may end up being a great PG but while Kirk and Rose are here he won't see the floor. He can't shoot the 3 and space the floor either. I think the same way about Butler. I don't see him as a long term fit because of his shooting and lack of ability to score, create, get his own shot. IMO Burks is the upgraded version of Butler and Burks could bring scoring off the bench or as a fringe starter.

Ideally I'd like to get Redick and Burks. Don't know how though w out trading picks. Trade Rip to cavs for a TPE and pick to get under the cap.

Rose/Kirk
Redick/Burks
Deng/Butler
Booz(eventually Mirotic) Taj
Noah/(Hopefully Withey)

I'm sure a few teams are willing to take Boozer if we throw in a pick and take filler. Charlotte is a team that would make sense, since pressure to just be a low playoff seed is on them more than anyone else.

But the thing is...if Reinsdorf has already OK'ed a potential 2014-15 amnesty PLUS full payroll......Pax probably finds that more attractive than losing picks right now. Good picks in the new NBA are so much more valuable now. And Pax can draft. Even the haters out there have to admit that Taj, Butler, Mirotic are flat out finds.

They got on this Mirotic thing when hype was nearly zero.

Important to remember in this: the Bulls actually do like Boozer. He is unpopular here, but the Bulls see he has an offensive role..which they value, because these last years we've had (1) clear offense problems (2) few other direct offensive complements for Derrick

I just don't think the Bulls can afford to give up assets to acquire someone who is basically a backup center. The Bulls just don't have a lot of young assets they are willing to part with. Deng is too important to the Bulls to give up for Gortat. So, yeah, like I said - I don't think the two teams are good trading partners. If you can get a lottery pick for Gortat, go for it.

If the Celtics are willing to give up Lee-Sullinger- Melo and a draft pick for Gortat, they can have him. The Bulls can't beat that offer.

Gortat is not a backup center. He's a very good starting center.

He's also not on a bad contract, and the Suns have no reason to get rid of his contract at all.

Wouldn't he be the backup center for the Bulls though, especially if they don't trade Boozer... Its like you didn't even read what I wrote. If the Suns have no reason to give up his contract, why are they trying to trade him?

I wonder how many people who are ok with Big Baby have watched him play? Redick would be great to have but Big Baby shoots every time he touches the ball and at a truly awful percentage. He has an Allen Iverson-esque FG% but doesnt get to the line 10 times a game and is a freakin big man. I take Boozer and his production and salary over Davis and his production and salary every day of the week.

If we get Gortat, it is as a future pairing with Nikola.

Gortat in Phoenix started making the jumper as well as play a very good 1-2 with the PG. he could shoot even when in ORL, but didnt get the opportunity.

My point being that he can easily play backup C and PF.

His contract allows us to have the best frontcourt in all NBA when Mirotic gets here.
For love, not money.

If he could play power forward, he would have done so alongside Dwight. There's more to playing PF than hitting jumpers.

Thanks for sharing Ralph. I'm hoping Rose comes back early enough where there is time for the FO to figure out what to do this trade deadline. I think Rip will be gone - but if we can make some moves to get more athletic or add a short creator...might help in a playoff run. None of those rumored deals really excite me though.
14 years is a nice run but it's time to end the Paxson era.

I hate Big Baby but I would be fine with trading Boozer for Reddick and Big Baby because thats probably the most realistic trade scenario. Thibs coached him in Boston so I am sure he could get through to him, he would also come of the bench here and would play some backup C/PF minutes. The 2nd unit could use someone who will try to score the ball. Now I also would try and trade him the first chance I get, and I think there would be a team out there who would take him like Charlotte.

And who said they are trying to trade him? We know that Bulls are interested in Gortat, nothing about Suns being interested in trading Gortat.

I don't understand all the love for JJ Redick here. Is it based on his play this year or do people just want some hunky man candy on the Bulls? He's statistically almost the exact same player as Belinelli, and while Redick is ok, I've seen him make enough terrible plays on the Magic in the past years that I don't ever need to see him in a Bulls jersey.

Agreed. He'd be okay off the bench but something tells me the Bulls would start him w/ kirk playing backup minutes when Rose gets back. So get used to the idea of Kirk and JJ playing hot potato and collecting turnovers.

Redick is a low turnover player. He's not bad off the dribble finding a shot for himself or others.

It would stand to reason that any deal bringing Gortat here would have Boozer going out through the same trade, another trade, or amnesty. Noah would move to PF, with Gibson backing up both frontcourt spots.

The Suns haven't expressed any interest in moving him as far as we know. Where are you getting that?

Interesting that the Gortat rumor has legs. I'm not sure what we would be able to give up because Phoenix would probably want picks and young talent. Maybe Jimmy+Rip and our 2013 first but there would need to be more going out.

Boozer to the Nets makes a lot of sense because of his time with D-Will and also how they're in a win not mode with Johnson and Wallace. I don't like Humphries as the main piece back though because we can't amnesty him and I don't have any confidence the Bulls would make use of his expiring. They'd probably give us Marshon Brooks but we've already passed on him once

Why is Redick being brought up?

Because among all the speculation and guessing, the Bulls actually signed JJ to an offer sheet in July 2010, so we know without a doubt that the Bulls like him.

"Collecting turnovers"? WHAT? Redick averages 1.5 TO per 36 minutes for his career, so can I kindly ask what you base your "Collecting turnovers" comment on?

It's obviously not based in reality, based on how many times Redick has actually turned the ball over in his career, so are you just a Duke hater or JJ hater?

You have the right to be either, I'm just curious.

Kirk has only averaged 2.2 TO per 36 for his career, if he's a "turnover collector" he's not very good at it.
