Oof hes as bitter about that Kukoc shot situation as he was in 1994.

I get why he felt slighted but at the end of the day that was your team, your teammate - and he hit the shot, making you look foolish. It was also a play they ran before (Infamous Reggie bow game where Toni hit it with 0.8 left).

I'm not a huge Phil fan, but man.

Is he teaming up with Lebron to diss MJ & Phil now?

Pippen is a legend with the bulls but everything he’s been saying lately is just stupid. Idk if he’s saying these things to seek attention so everyone can talk about what he said but at this point he needs to get tuned out by the media and fans regarding his opinions.

A racial move? Seriously? What an unfortunate thing to say.

I've always been able to separate my feelings about him as a player and my feelings about him as a person. He was a much, much, much, much better player than a person.

Honestly I dont know what to make of Scottie.

He was one of my favorite players of alltime. I loved his versatility, his defense. Will always be a Chicago Bulls legend.

My take is he has always been undercover bitter his whole playing career.

I feel he hated Krause. He didnt hate playing with MJ and winning those titles but I think he felt underappreciated. I dont think he likes the whole "side kick" term either because he takes it as a slight.

So now he is just a grumpy disgruntled former player. Hes mad that he didnt make the money he should have. And he might have a valid point. So I feel that anything he says that has some controversy, is just him lashing out.

Scottie has a book to sell, so the fastest way to get publicity, is to create controversy.

I see nothing wrong with what Durant said. Pippen should be criticized for refusing to go into a game because the play wasn’t drawn up for him. That’s the definition of being selfish and not a team player. A guy like that should never be allowed to give advice about being a team player. Now Pippen is saying it was a racial move. Complete joke.

At least Kirk Hinrich appears to be keeping it tight in that photo.

If I'm Durant, my answer is "Scottie's right. I've got to do better and I will."

A response like that gets you much more respect and makes you look like you're above all this nonsense. I love KD the player, but KD the person reveals time after time how insecure he is (just like Pippen).

I wish Pip would have a bit better awareness of not sticking his foot in his mouth when facing the public and media. He has shown he can be a great front facing media personality like his time in the Jump. I don’t get it, all the championship era guys from Kerr, to Wennington, to Kukoc all freakin’ love him; then the only thing the public gets from him is this tabloid weirdness? Thought he was taking the high road after the Last Dance stuff by just talking to Jordan in private, but I guess he was just biding his time to air 25 year old dirty laundry.

Toni Kukoc had a good point saying guys like Jokic and Doncic had far more clear paths to the NBA BECAUSE guys like Kukoc blazed trails and made it so those guys had less scrutiny. He accomplished everything a player who was not yet in the NBA could have accomplished and made an impact his rookie season. Don’t know what else the guy could have done to make Pip see he was legitimate and not just some great white hype in that situation.

I loved Scottie but he's changed since he got involved with the Kardashians. Now I'm just losing respect for him

Part of me thinks it is Pip just trying to get as much publicity as possible at the moment. He is releasing his book and creating his own liquor company and he knows that any publicity is good publicity. Maybe he is using all of this to make some of the money that didn't come to him during his playing days....but it isn't a good look for him.

He came out of The Last Dance as super talented and respected and probably preferred as a person/teammate when compared to MJ. Like others have said, Scottie is one of my favourite players of all time, but I still don't believe he is a top 30-40 player of all time if he doesn't become MJ's 'sidekick'.

When you put everything together for Scottie (no tippin, not going in for the last Kukoc shot, putting off surgery, 'migraines', his recent media comments etc) - it seems like he has some underlying bitterness and other issues that just keep coming out of the woodwork. At least with MJ - you knew what you were getting - Ego, Competitiveness, Fire, Arrogance and Winning.

My gut on this is, 1 he is petty and there is enough evidence to support that. 2 he is trying to make a brand himself. He sees guys like Bayless, SAS, even Chuck and Shaq and now Kwame, making money off of just saying things. He gets a little media attention but he is trying too amp it up. He lost his Bulls paycheck because of his mouth and he needs to make up that income and also what Larsa likely took from him too. Being a prick and saying silly things makes you more money than being logical. Just ask Stern, Kanye, Jenner etc... You get he idea. He is trying to brand himself, he is abrasive and abrasive sells. It won't age well, but his legacy has enough marks on it that this really shouldn't matter. Calling Phil racist is pretty hilarious though. Not saying that there is no racism at all in the NBA but usually white players and coaches in general aren't racist as they generally have more exposure to black people and learn racism is just simply stupid in general. Not saying that there aren't examples but in general that is pretty true in my experience. Fans.... well that's a different story, but the guys who travel, room, practice etc... not as common.

It will be. This free press has boosted his sales. If he wasn't doing this, who would buy the book, maybe a handful of us on RealGM, now he has opened it up to a wider audience. Hell most people wouldn't have even known the book was coming out otherwise. It's not a good person move, but it is a good sales move for sure. What else does he have to lose?

Pippen's recent actions smell of desperation. I sadly wouldnt be surprised if he just really needs the money.
