BTW regardless of the opinions, I think russ going to the clippers makes too much sense for him. Doesn't have to move just change uniforms, pg13 is recruiting him and he can get some revenge on the Lakers in the process. If he wants an opportunity at being a starring pg in this league again, he should come to the bulls as we def have an opening for him. But if it's personal then he will probably join the clippers

Westbrook signing with Bulls after buyout. I'm looking forward to it. Plays hard every game.

I agree.

Plus Bulls are worried about luxury tax, and I doubt RW would choose a pro-rated deal over an immediate offer from LAC. And Clippers just sent Reggie Jackson out, and Wall's a goner, so they need a vet PG replacement. I doubt they want to hit the playoffs with 1 option, 22yo Bones.

And for crying out loud, we have 4 PGs. None of them are doing a good job, but what's the plan; DNP'ing Coby, Goran or Ayo?

Makes very little sense.

I'll say this, being on ESPN Windhorst doesn't like to be wrong in making predictions, every other talking big mouth they have would be all too happy to make fun of him blowing a call.

The 4 things that make me think he would choose Chicago are

familiarity with Bill and Mo Cheeks, if he felt they respected him
He's going to get paid the same amount no matter where he goes, don't tell me some team has a $5M MLE or something, he's got hundreds of millions in his bank
If he goes to any contender, LAC as an example and they don't win it all do people blame PG, or Kwahi, no Westbrook would be the scapegoat for coming in with his play and wrecking the team. The same applis to MIA or most anyplace else
He should come in and start over Ayo so he gets the best chance to showcase that he can adapt to a situation and merits a new good contract.

The Bulls have seen what Ayo can do and 27 more games at PG aren't going to change that he isn't a PG. If they have designs on resigning him, they have all the information they need to make that decision. So if AK was honest and it's all about the seeing what they have and winning the next 28 (minus1 loss) games then they need to make a change at the one position they lack and where the most effective players are out there to be found.

I need to get some mouthwash because I just said this and the puke taste is stuck in my mouth, but I would welcome Russ if the choice is between him and Wall.

I was totally opposed to getting him when I thought we would be trading for him. But as a buyout player for a few months sure, why not? This season doesn’t mean anything anyway and his drive and kick ability will benefit several of our guys.

There’s a number of potential downsides too, but does it really even matter if he’s basically free and only here for this already-wasted season?

I actually never minded him as a buyout option all the time he has been talked about this past year and a half. I mean he is a great value at nothing... @ 40 million well..... With the Bulls we already have chemistry issues and ball hogging, Russ can make it worse but maybe it will be like the hyper kids when they gave them Ritalin... they just move so fast that they suddenly get concentration.... I just don't want Wall he is trash right now. He solves nothing. russ at least brings some toughness, heart and will push the pace. Between him, Zach and Drummond it will be a turnover fest but meh who cares at this point, we are ride or die to the end of this year. I truly wouldn't mind d Rose back either (although in the past I was more meh) much for the same reasons. Truth be told, I would likely be ok with taking the flyer on Wall...

Not that we will but the Bulls have some MLE left right? So technically capsize they can outbid other teams.... We don't have tax capspace so it is a moot point though as this surely is not a team worth going into the luxury threshold and starting the clock on repeater tax for.

Oddly I have a box for work for the Lakers game, I have to say just for that game I would love Russ to be on this squad. Taking a group of customers the main guy is one who just moved here from SoCal and is a huge Lakers fan (and absolutely despises LeBron and says any real Lakers fan has to lol) but it would make the game more interesting and at this point both teams should be playing for a playoff berth/seeding.

Tony Bradley... it was nice knowing you. You gave me a couple great moments as a Bull, but both were on twitter. First was Joel Embiid saying "I've seen enough build around Tony Bradley"

The second which live I didn't see as big of a deal but the memes were amazing, was the Steven Adams carrying Tony back from Memphis all the way to the UC. Someone has to have that still please post them! It was great. Of course I am assuming he is the one getting the axe...

Why not with Russ it's not like this team is over performing this season or what not. I like his game and he is a good fit with the Bulls.

I don't think it was a tweet might have been from an interview and the quote had to do with his familiarity with Billy... Truth is that a factor, and he is short enough for Billy to put in the lineup.

All logical arguments if we’re talking about adding him as a longer term piece. But that’s not what this is if it happens. This is just a roll of the dice with the same level of commitment as an NBA Live signing. In a season that is already in the trash bin.

I can’t think of one single reason to not do it given the circumstances. At the absolute worst it amounts to tossing a match into a roaring fire.

I hate his game and think he’s a terrible fit. But I’d still do it.

I can't wait...

Its going to be so deliciously bad. Zach is going to lose his **** playing with Russ.

The amount of "my turn" possessions is going to be so high. How can you not want to see this? The idea we are good is gone, we suck, not making the playoffs, GM stays stagnant...

If Russ signs, it'll be the most excited I've been all season.

Lonzo is actually the good fit for this team but he gone... likely forever me thinks. Russ is the polar opposite of what Lonzo brings in many ways so I don't know that he is a good fit, but it is more like why the hell not. He has more talent and impact (both negative and positive) than most the other options fit ignored. His bad reputation is somewhat over exaggerated because he has had to play scapegoat in Houston and 100% been leBron's whipping boy. Yup inefficient chucker, and high turnovers, he also only plays at one speed (which is his good fit with this oft disinterested team)

im not buying it until i see a REAL tweet about it. These guys are always so cutthroat about being first to the story, the fact that none of them have mentioned it yet makes me feel this is clickbait.

I know it said “a contender,” but that’d be a good get.

Not waived player, but I'd give Jay Huff a look out of the G-League.

russ is not a good fit at all because he's inefficient and turnover prone. i think the triple double avg ruined his reputation (mostly due to the obvious stat padding) but at this point....why the hell not? lmfao. We're not going anywhere and maybe his maximum effort will be infectious. that or show which players on the team are really not that interested/engaged in that department
