This kind of argument was so popular last year too. No way Dwight Howard leaves the Lakers. No way.

Wha? That's not even close to the same argument. Most people thought the Rockets were the front runners to land Dwight the minute free agency started. It was just a question of will he pass up the money.

It's the same type of simplistic argument. I highly doubt Melo is that afraid of the West. People saying that he isn't leaving the East might as well say he's only signing with the Bulls because that statement implies that he cares about winning the most and we all know he isn't doing that with the Knicks. Staying in the East only matters if he goes to the Bulls.

The process we expected. Nobody would come out and say meeting went not as we would have liked.

Here's an interesting tidbit:

Meanwhile, reports of Derrick Rose’s presence Tuesday at the United Center have been overblown, according to another individual abreast of the proceedings, as the former league MVP’s workout was held in the city, rather than the Berto Center, more because of convenience to both his downtown home and the meeting with Anthony. Furthermore, it was a light session, not something conceived to verify his health, the same source said, as his competition in five-on-five pickup games has increased to include the likes of Chicago native Will Bynum of the Pistons and former Bulls guard Ben Gordon, who reportedly signed a two-year, $9-million deal with Orlando on Wednesday.

Larsa Pippen's attractive. I just wish her nose job wasn't so nose jobby.

kulaz3000 wrote:Of course it's insulting. Players who join their respective teams wanting to retain their old numbers usually offer those players a little extra incentive to do so, like expensive watches or what not. In the case of the Rockets, they didn't even ask for Lin's blessing to use his jersey number to court Melo, instead they just disrespected him.

Yeah, I'd be a little peeved. I'd get over it quite quickly, but I'd still feel insulted that they didn't have the courtesy to at least inform me knowing damn well that those images would likely leak for the entire world to see.

It was an amateur move by the Rockets.

If you get over it quickly, it's not that insulting and we're just splitting hairs over here. I said it's a slight but not that insulting, you say you'd be a little peeved yet get over it quickly. Meh.

Also, there's a big difference between a malevolent move and an oversight. The latter shouldn't be considered as epic disrespect, and we don't know whether or not someone was supposed to inform Lin and forgot.

That's awesome. I'm glad he's going up against a player with Will Bynum's quickness.

Talk about disloyalty!

Melo should be irritated by the fact that just a year ago Lin was the savior coming into Houston.

Now he's forgotten to the point that they disrespect him by having a pic a Melo in his Jersey number hanging from the arena.

The Audacity!

What will they do to you the moment things don't work out Melo?

Any reasonable big time free agent would rather be playing in the Eastern Conference right now if they had the option to play on a team that was already good. Melo's been in the league a long time. He's no dummy. Bulls give him the best chance to win right away, but the money might be too hard to pass up, which I wouldn't blame him for either.

Overblown? Had I known it was a 5-on-5 with NBA players I'd have more than just a semi going on. Awesome.
