Well that was before KC threw it into his article. Who knows now if that was legit or not?

I belive that's lazy report on KC part I read that tweet if I remember correctly someone cousin doesn't followNBA off season and Noah tell some random person he thinks Melo return. I smell a rat

Have I given up on Melo? Hell no.

If it doesn't happen? Eh, we still have a hell of a roster that is going to be balanced out by some additions to the offensive side.

Winning 55+ games and competing with anyone in the conference is nothing to fret about.

Too late - it's already started.

I've mentioned it a few times but you can't blame the FO if we don't get Melo.

What our FO can do - make a great presentation, have our best players show up to recruit, and make a desirable destination. What they can't do - offer him the same max NY can, magically make Chicago the town he grew up in/near, and guarantee his family will be happy about a move.

They did what they could. It's winning vs money/hometown/family's happiness for Melo. Would be a tough decision for any of us.

The problem is not necessarily in the execution. There is very likely a problem in the chosen strategy, something we have not learned from the past 10 years Pax has been following this "flexibility to hunt for superstars strategy"

The silver lining would be watching the Knicks stink and Melo fighting the triangle will be appointment tv.

Melo should be in the point of his career where he's willing to take a pay cut to win. He's in his prime and the window for success will keep getting smaller and smaller every year. He's made his max money already in NY (I think).

No, that's not likely at all.

that effing lockout f'ed us up royally. First we get his with the Rose Rule, thanks, then Rose gets hurt due to the condensed season.

best thing for the bulls that year would have been for no basketball to have been played. I think we have gotten screwed every new cba.

Yeah we were built to be awesome under the old CBA. The Rose injury killed us. I do give the FO credit for adjusting on the fly on both counts.

Does it matter? We'll still draft Douglas McDermott.

If Melo goes West or takes the max with NY and the Big 3 fall apart. The East belongs to the Bulls.

I know Lebron wants Max and Bulls doesn't have max to offer which is probably the reason why Bulls isn't even bothering to call Lebron's agent.

However..

If you are Melo want would you feel if you see the headline that Rockets, Mavs and Laker will meet Lebron's agent before you announce your decision?

Yep. Even if the egos stay together, they could be worse than last season.

The longer I'm on here the more I realize that very few of us could play for Thibs or even Skiles. Most would require Vinny at the helm.

That's a good question. Cuban is Exhibit A of the swaggy, free-wheeling owner, and Dallas has even won a title in recent memory, but they've failed to land a big fish in free agency in their last few attempts and had to settle for alternative paths that didn't lead to greater success. Now more than ever, players make the Decisions.

Well luckily we only have to wait like a day or so to find out what Melo is going to do. Let's hope for the best.

If not, on to plan B, which is talk to Wolves about Love.

Then move on to plan C. Use that 16 mill in cap space to add Mirotic and a starting SG.

This Summer/FA doesn't end with Melo saying no to the Bulls.
