Wow. That is nuts that Rose swallowed his pride and did that. This dude is a former MVP, and when healthy is a better player than Melo. Big ups to Rose...thats like...demeaning lol. Damn D-Rose. You the real MVP

I might have seriously told him to **** off if I were in his shoes

Per sources, Derrick Rose was or wasn't at 11 different Chicago steakhouses with Carmelo Anthony.

Gotta love it.
Scottie Pippen's response to whom he would pick for his running mate, Michael or LeBron: "That's a dumbass question. I've never done anything with LeBron. I wouldn't take LeBron to the movies."

You just want Dougie to be the show in Chicago instead - ADMIT IT!!

I'd kill for Melo to come here. I'm just thinking greed.

No no, I totally understand. At the end of the day, money is money and if you can set yourself up as well as generation after generations of your family, then that is hard to pass up. I mean, as Bulls fans we are trying to selfishly rationalize why he should leave money on the table to join our team, but put any of us in that situation and it's not as simple as that.

After the meeting...

Noah: Now that we're done talking, let's smoke some pot.
Anthony: Yeah yeah whatever. But first I wanna see Black Jeremy Lin play basketball.
Rose: I won't recruit, but I could show you some moves Mr.Swish_Buckets_Anthony.

At the gym...

Rose: Meeeloooow I can do all the MVP things!!! Tell me what you want me to do?. I do it because I want to, not to recruit, okay?
Noah: :banghead:
Melo: Take off that suit, Lin :noway: ...Sorry, I meant to say Derremy .
Rose: ...Crap. Old habits. :D *puts on bulls jersey*
...
..
.
Rose: Better now?
Melo: Yep. Aight cool, now pass me the ball.
Rose: A Give N' Go, right? Here catch my MVP-Pass!!!
Melo: *shoots*
Rose: *picks up the ball* Why did you shoot? :-?
Melo: Nice pass, nice rebound. Where do you guys want me to sign?!! :P

I know I'm getting ahead of myself but yeah...

Remember when Rose passed to Scalabrine for that gamewinner couple years back?

Don't think he'll have a problem passing to Melo

GimmeDat wrote:Let's be real, Derrick would have had to really humble himself to work out, as the 'man' of this team, to appease Anthony. I doubt you'd see many other stars do that.

I'm sure it took some persuading from Jo and the gang, but I'm proud of you Derrick.

I just hope he wasnt forced into doing it. persuaded im cool with, hopefully Jo took him aside and said "look pooh, show this mother **** who you are and if he joins us fine if not **** him its still your team and we will beat their blue and orange asses during the season!"

But like others have said i dont think the bball floor is down yet.

When Dallas and Houston bring up Rose's knees tomorrow, Melo is going to have an image of Derrick doing a windmill dunk and raining 3's less than 24 hours earlier. It might have been demeaning to Rose but him taking one for the team just destroys one of the primary negatives for Chicago.

Imagine how nervous the Bulls brass must have been after everything we've been through. God forbid Rose gets hurt doing a workout to prove he's not hurt.

Thank God everything seems to have went well.

WE DESERVE THIS **** :D

How much did that championship matter to Randy Brown when he had his ring on Ebay for auction a few years back?

There is a reason why NY'ers believe Carmelo won't leave. 130 million reasons.

Why take 70 when I can take a 100?

Randy Brown made less in his career than Melo does in 1 season. Melo already has a net worth of 80 million with at minimum 100m in earnings coming to him over the next 4 years no matter where he signs.

Bulls went all out on this it seems....even Derrick

Now we have to hope Melo agrees with virtually every other analyst out there, that the Bulls with Melo would be downright nasty next year and ready to kick some ass.

Also I asked this last night but didnt get any replies...

but does Melos Jordan Contract look like, can it be renegotiated up+plus any other endorsements he might gain....

because if it can, suddenly that Paycut isnt looking quite as daunting and our chances go up significantly IMO

I hope Derrick being showcased will shut up all the ESPN talking heads about Derrick not recruiting. That's really a humiliating ask by the Bulls FO.

Lol, and why not take less money to play at a championship level for a BIG market team?!

I would rather do that than continue being irrelevant for the next five years.

I'd take the $129 mil all day every day.

Immediatley after school I worked for a non-profit where I helped individuals with disabilities lead more independent lives. Now I work in the private sector and make much more money.

I'm a sellout. Can't condemn others for doing the same.

Fingers crossed Melo comes here but I would never fault him for taking the money.

MELO HIMSELF said he's got money and it's not about the money. So, obviously, he's already got the 'generational wealth'. Also, a city like Chicago offers a lifetime of promotional wealth - just ask any of the 85 Bears.
