Pacers hang up the phone if you offer them that. You'd have to give up at least 3 picks, Coby and Wendell to get him...

well i dont see the reason to deplete the war chest if we are not ready to compete yet.

Re: Around the NBA: 2020-21 Season
If Sabonis is really available, and it’s not hot air, which I think it is... I’m maybe going as far as this:
Lauri, Coby, Felicio, Arci, three FRPs (top-3 protected 21 and top-7 in 23, top-10 in 25)
Sabonis, McConnell, J. Holiday, A. Holiday
Then I immediately shop WCJ, Valentine, A. Holiday for mid/late FRPs or 2nds to re-load on some assets. Consider moving Thad for FRP, since he's redundant with Sabonis.
Seems risky moving 3 picks, but you are still safe for Cade/Suggs in case of calamity, and moving zero/negative players for 3 positive rotation players. My main thinking is I’m not seeing a player in this draft outside of Cade or Suggs who will massively change the Bulls’ trajectory, nor do I see a FA star in the next 2 years.
In the end, I don’t think Pacers agree to take such a package, especially since Lavine/Sabonis keep this year's pick out of top-10 range. Also, I can see Sabonis' value dropping next year. I doubt he makes a 3rd ASG in a row; he's been lucking out with injuries to stars (Durant, Embiid, etc.). Turner could arguably be more responsible for their success than Sabonis; could be a case of the offensive player being spared of dirty work, winning the glory, while the defensive anchor sits in his shadow.
The counter to all this is that we're 4 games under 500, and a measly handful of games from a legitimate crack at a top-4 pick again. Coby, Pat and Wendell have hit bottom again; Thad, Sato, Valentine all have some kind of intriguing deadline value; hard not to consider one more stealth tank. I did not expect to lose 3 of the last 4 with a loaded rotation, but we actually do look a bit worse, as compatibility is really off and youth player confidence falls with roster changes and demotions. On the other hand, CHA, CLE and TOR are bound to start sinking even more.

Re: Around the NBA: 2020-21 Season
I'm surprised we haven't seen a trade or three today, though there's a few more business hours on the west coast, I suppose. I wonder if the strange season will result in more trades tomorrow at the deadline or fewer. There are definitely more teams in a grey area between playoff hopes and lottery positioning, the Bulls included. There are plenty of clear playoff teams with a hole to fill, but there are even more weird middle-ground teams, some perhaps aging out of their playoff window, and some clawing their way in.

LeVert is a complete boss. Cancer surgery and scoring 28/6/4/2 about two months later.

How can Boston be 2 games under .500? They have a pair of wings who together average 50 points, around 12 rebounds, and 10 assists. Plus Kemba Walker and Marcus Smart. I guess their bench must really suck, and they are also lacking in quality bigs.

Utah just steamrolling another contender. When they are shooting like this, it’s fun watching them dismantle teams, even though the Nets aren’t playing their stars
KC: Do you still think you're a championship-caliber team?

Boston is like that uber talented hockey team. All types of skill and ability but they have no grit.
They need edge and killer instinct. There is always something with that team. First it was injuries to Kyrie and the kids rising up, then it was the kids not wanting to take a backseat when Kyrie and Gordon came back.
Danny Ainge was too busy trying to kill teams in trades and now he doesn't have the cache around the league to help bolster his team and help get them over the hump.

Seems pointless for the Kings, but it's interesting that they don't seem to be willing to sell. One seller less means more reasons to sell.

Laverty is great. Wonderful to see him get off the Nets' bench and to a place where he is much needed.

Should the Bulls take a flyer if true?

Pretty sure he'd be eyeing LA.

Either or, right?
Can't think of a more desirable situation for a PG.
