Good game going with Loyola Chi and Hurricanes. Only 1 half but Walker has been very quiet.

New Ringer draft / NCAA tourney prospect guide-

https://nbadraft.theringer.com

I really liked this last year with so many games today/tomorrow to focus in a couple of guys I'm maybe not thinking of-

Zaire Smith - Texas Tech tonight vs SFA.
Lots of bracketoloigists have SFA in the upset, so lets see if Smith takes care of business

Daniel Gafford - Arkansas
I'ver got Butler taking them out but this kid looks interesting. Pip is probably pulling for him. Have not seen him.
Kinda looks like Bobby Portis sized.....

Looking most forward to VaTech and Bama tonight, really want to see a full Sexton game.

Exciting NCAA games for sure!

(low key ... that Pelicans-Spurs game is a big one for us tonight ... need Spurs to turn it on!)

I can understand that. Just don't believe it.

Rockets have Ariza Capela Tucker and CP3... all play D.

Dubs have Durant, Klay, Iggy, Livinston, and Draymond.

Those are the only two teams sniffing a title. 2nd Tier teams are far away IMO.

I do think Trae Young has the potential to be so good as a shooter, assister, and FT maker that his D won't matter that much. No one will be able to guard him and he will make the game easy for the guys around him.

Just look at what's happening to CLE if you want to see a team that doesn't believe in defense. And contrast that with BOS, which plays excellent defense.

Want to see Z Smith. His explosiveness and D make him an interesting player with the Pels pick. Need to see more of him to get a read. Early indications are I'd take him over Knox though. Knox often plays without a pulse.

I haven’t been impressed with him these last 6 weeks or so.

If he goes undrafted, Lagerald Vick could be interesting pickup

Trae Young went out strong. He might be pretty good in the NBA with good teammates...

I couldn't disagree more with these comments -

IcemanGervin wrote:Trea's potential floor is probably a Bridges ceiling so passing over that would be foolish.

Young has one of the lowest floors in the lottery. There are so many question marks. He plays zero defense, requires the ball in his hands at all times, and relies on high difficulty shots. If he can't shoot at the same prolific level or get to the line as much as he did in college, he's suddenly a liability in so many areas.

Now of course, he has major upside as well, much more upside than the Bridges' probably do, but if we're talking purely floors, a guy like Mikal is almost a sure fire starter due to his size, elite defense, and role player offensive ability.

IcemanGervin wrote:I fully believe defense is dead in the NBA. I put no stock into it.

I don't get how you could say this. Since when has the ability to stop your opponent from scoring the ball become a non-factor? How come people are so quick to criticize Lavine and other defensive liabilities in spite of their high level offensive ability? How come all the top NBA teams are top defensive teams? There's a myriad of statistics that people could pull out to verify the importance of defense.

Why do you say that? And can that really be determined of an 19 year old kid?

Any reason why Zhaire Smith won't declare this year?

I think most people felt that way because he just was on no boards to start the year, plus he's at a school that to my knowledge generally have guys stay. But hard to see him staying if he's a lottery pick, imo. Doesn't help your stock.
