I always believe that Niko really have the talent to be an All-Star level player in the NBA. His case I think was more cultural fit issue and that affects him mentally as well. NBA is not for everybody.

Not an all star. He could never create for himself. But he was a good starter. His defense improved in NO. He really became a good 4.

You perform better when & where you're happy, and Niko's heart was always back in Europe. He went back every summer, and the Spanish national team was more important to him than the Bulls. And all that's OK, he should be doing exactly what he loves. He's getting millions either way.

Wolves is 4-6 for Last 10 games. Still losing record, but they are now performing closer to teams with 8-10+ more wins than them (SAC, NOP). I hope they finally on the right track with this latest coaching change. I wanted KAT, because he has undeniable talent offensively. But now we got Vuc, he's going to give us about the same thing as KAT, just older (hopefully wiser).

In his rookie year he showed that he's a pretty crafty guy with the ball. I think if he can get stronger and play closer to the basket, and play inside-out he can be a very high level player. Think Thad Young, but with the ability to step out and punish teams from 3-point range. Niko is a pretty good passer for his size, and has pretty good BBall IQ on offense. His problem is mental, he always played like he's scared or lacking confidence.

I'm sorry, I never say allstar. The game has also gotten smaller and he definetely couldn't take a lot of 4's off the dribble. He was high IQ and a good passer but not a star. I still would have loved to have him. He became a really good starter in NO and a good player.

He is showing how, once you reach a certain degrees of success, adding the final piece or two isn't that hard because you become very attractive for free agents. Oladipo wanted to play for MIA, they are coming off an NBA finals appearance, and so there was very little risk for MIA to trade for him, knowing that he will very likely sign with them next year, maybe at a discount.

Now they have Jimmy, Bam, Dragic and Oladipo- that's 4 all star or near all star level players. With players that play both sides of the court. They will be dangerous in the playoffs.

For Olidiapo it is a smart choice too. If anyone has the staff to get him back into top shape it is Miami. Worst case for the heat is he doesn’t work and they don’t sign him in the off-season. They basically paid to get a cheap preview on their potential investment. The heat right now are kind of like the Patriots, the team and the system can give a player a good environment and a second chance.

If any place can resurrect Dipo it is Miami. For the Heat like you said it is a no brainer I’m fact it’s is smart because they can take a look at him first before potentially giving him an offer.
Oladipo hasn’t been a relevant player in years & was barely a star. He had that one good year, and that was really it. He won’t move the needle for them. Heck he barely ever plays. It was a solid gamble because why not, but it most likely will amount to nothing. There’s a reason no one was too interested in bringing him aboard, you’ll be lucky to get 25-30 games out of him

Would immediately be one of the worst deals in the league. Why would the Knicks even want Drummond?

To improve their center position. 16 mil per year would not be a league worst deal man.

There are probably worse deals out there and I'm forgetting them right now, but it's definitely up there. Drummond wouldn't even be their best center.

Can someone remind me how the MLE and MMLE works? Do teams need to have that amount in cap to use it or can they use it regardless of the amount of cap space?

Man, reading Wizards' beat stuff is depressing as hell...
They think that Gafford will be great because he reminds them of... JaVale McGee!!!

https://theathletic.com/2480498/2021/03/27/get-to-know-the-newest-wizards-daniel-gafford-and-chandler-hutchison/

"The Wizards view Gafford as the prize. He has a couple of team-friendly seasons remaining on his contract after this one and is the type of spry big man the franchise has been searching for since parting with JaVale McGee a decade ago."

This isn't a knock on Gafford per se (who I think is useful and cheap, if unspectacular), but if your FO thinks a JaVale like player is among the solutions to a bottom five team, you're in trouble.

This is the ultimate NBA AAU team. I don't like the precedent they are setting, I hope they lose.

Buyout rules have to change. I understand that the money saved can be important for small market teams, but this is preposterous.
