Re: NBA Trade Thread #2
Here's an idea to get Derrick White (complicated because of PPP):
Wendell Carter Jr., Otto Porter (expiring), Hutchinson, Kornet for Derrick White, Rudy Gay (expiring), Poeltl (2 more year after this one), Lyles (expiring). Works on tradechecker.
Then cut Lyles and bring back Vonleh (or even Shittu, but IMO Vonleh could become a starting level 5 in the NBA and I'm really not sure why he's not signed right now).

Why do the Bulls want Derrick White?

25 year old Malcolm-Brogdon-like athletic combo guard, 6'4 with a 6'8 wingspan, who is very good defensively, "just ok" as a distributor, but shoots pretty well from range and overall (career 47% FG% and 36% from 3), to include solid finishing inside.
Derrick White is, at least right now, a better version of Coby White, minus no real signs of microwave type bulk scoring that White has flashed. He'd be a nice hedge in case Coby doesn't develop into a lead guard and needs to be moved into a Jordan Clarkson type role; meanwhile, if Coby develops, every team can use a Derrick White type guy off as their 3rd guard.
The list of potentially available PGs in free agency or trade is slim pickings, and who knows what the draft will or won't bring.

I’d hate to break up a group that seems to be gelling for such a small upgrade. I haven’t seen enough of him to connect the Brogdon comparison, considering Brogdon outperformed Derrick White in nearly every statistic.
Explain how Derrick White is a better version of Coby White. I don’t see it b

Take a dive into defense and the advanced stats.
First, Derrick is a plus defender: https://airalamo.com/2020/09/11/san-antonio-spurs-derrick-white-defense/
Then, on offense, Derrick finishes inside at a good rate (60% at the rim, 53% from 3-10 - where Coby shots 54% at the rim and a pretty bad 39% from 3-10): https://www.basketball-reference.com/players/w/whitede01/shooting/2020
Derrick has a positive plus minus (as compared to Coby's negative). Per 100 possessions, you're looking at a bit more than 7 assists and about 2.5 TOs for him (as compared to Coby's 7.5-8 assists per 100 possession, but with 4 turnovers) - and Derrick's assist numbers may be a little lower than they could be due to Pop's system and a lower usage rate than what Coby has.
As for Brogdon, compare Brogdon at 25 years old (his 2nd season) vs. White at 25 years old (last year, his 3rd season). Very similar - though Brogdon one level up in terms of shooting from range.

Re: NBA Trade Thread #2
As for "breaking up the group," it would essentially by a WCJr for White trade, with the other guys being there for salary matching purposes. Though Poeltl is a serviceable reserve center (but overpaid at 9M per for another two seasons for that role) - but I think his salary is needed to make things work (just like Otto's and Gay's).
I do think Gay could do much of what Otto has been doing for the Bulls (at half the cost - though likely only through the end of the season) And despite being like a decade older, Gay moves better than Otto (but isn't as good a shooter).

Otto Porter Jr., Wendell Carter Jr. and Denzel Valentine for Harrison Barnes and Richuan Holmes (from Chicago). Kings looked for Porter earlier and pair Bagley and Carter again. Barnes contract isnt a best but he shows up in games and is decent starting combo forward. Holmes is more skilled Gafford at the moment and efficient. Just feeling that Barnes and Holmes would fit well and played well with Lavine/Lauri and pg Sato or White.

AK will do better in FA then Barnes. Barnes is having a career year though.

Sure. But I don't think Cleveland would be willing to add their own first rounders (I'm assuming we'll get compensated for that awful deal of his).
Constantly underwhelmed by the Bulls.

Spurs actually like White. He will get the Demarr roll. Demarr is not returning. Why would they do this. They have drafted big men and like Gay. He is well liked.
The Spurs are my second NBA team. This is not happening.

Speaking of Trey Lyles what happened to him? I remember his days at Kentucky. He was also a former McDonald’s All American and high ranking high school recruit. Maybe he left college too early and didn’t properly develop. Still pretty young so rather than waive him maybe see what he has.

Would you accept trade offer from Denver like this: Garry Harris, Rj Hampton, Zekke Nnaji and two first round picks for Lavine. That seems what would realisticlly their trade offer looked like?

It's not super attractive given where those picks are likely to be. Harris is just a contract. I'm not sure how to think about Hampton or Nnaji - if we were high on them, maybe.

No because those first round picks will be at the end of the first round.

No.
Harris is an overpaid rotation guard, poor starter. Hampton isn’t much, and neither is Nnajj, and 2 late firsts most likely worth little.
Trash.

That's what I don't get about a lot of these fanbases trade offers. Lakers offer up two first rounders, that sounds cool but they'll be dead last to pick for a few years so there's no point. That's the same for the rest of those top seeded teams.

It starts with MPJ or Bol/3frps/RJ
Doncic will be goat. Lauri will be his sidekick.
