Maybe. Every professional athlete has won his entire life. A lot of guys who can't cut it have great leadership tools. I always want to see a Chicagoland guy do well but whatever he gets out of his tools, they simply aren't very good. Getting 50% out of 50 grade tools is still higher than 110% out of of 20 grade. You might be correct, but I'd still take Caleb, and it's not like it was a debate between these two players. Jayden Daniels was obviously the guy.

It actually may have been a debate between these two according to a rumor. The Bears chose to marry the head cheeleader instead of the salt of the earth girl

Forecasting to March/april 2026…… rashawn slater might be our answer at LT. Joe Alt had an absolutely dominant game against the chiefs. If he keeps that up for the entire season (and there’s really no reason for him to not be the best LT in the league) then at the very least the chargers will probably put Slater at RT when coming back from injury next season. But, if their current RT also plays at a high level, it could be worth it for them to trade a massive contract and getting assets in return, while not really taking a hit on their OL.

For us to trade for him, it would obviously come down to what it would cost. If I remember correctly, Trent Williams got trade for like a 4th and 5th. I would be shocked if that’s all it took to get slater. But, with his in and huge contract, it may only take a 2nd, which would be a no brainer

You might be right. But he wasn't actually good in his debut outside the fourth quarter...and I think it's more to do with the Bears blowing it.
We'll see!!

He was actually kind of bad until Q4. And in Q4, he was helped by a couple of bad penalties. It was a great comeback for the kid, but waaayyyy to early to start anointing him anything.

Him being bad for 3 quarters (in his first NFL start on the road ffs) is what makes his 4th quarter performance so impressive. This is a young kid that was telling his veteran sideline they were gonna win the entire game. Stay in there. After the pick six he was telling them he’s ok, stay in there. And so, they did. It’s not the 4th quarter performance, its an unshakable belief mentality that he fomented under duress at such a young age that he personally backed up in the clutch himself that is really something.

What I’m saying is that I am blown away by what this kid has inside of him. What happens next is that defensive coordinators are going to watch tape, and do everything they can to dismantle his game however. And they tend to do that very well with ‘rookies’. He’s got a long way to go to make a successful career out of what he brings to the table.

Jayden Daniels having a tough game- 16/28 for 119, 0 TD's, and Commanders are getting crushed by GB, who is looking really really good. Jordan Love looks like a top 10 QB now, and their defense is terrific.

What round would a team normally use on a place kicker? Last year two were taken in the 6th round I believe, none earlier. A 6th rounder doesn't sound like much to use to get a good kicker. Bears should really look into doing that next season. Santos was only 23rd in accuracy, and was 29th when it came to longest kick of the season (53 yards).

Another pedestrian game for Daniels. Off target on many throws. Even the easy ones weren’t easy.

At some point they need to think about bringing in Mariotta.

Supposedly they've been calling the Bears as to the availability of Bagent.

Future hall of famer Tyson “Arm Wrestler” Bagent? The man, the myth, the legend of 3 tds, 6ints?

Better line up the **** picks baby.

Agree with this.

I totally get how if you watched this game you were disappointed in Caleb. I don't get watching this game and thinking "boy that McCarthy kid is a stud". The Bears just collapsed on themselves in that game. McCarthy looked pretty awful most of the game, and the Bears complete ineptitude gave him enough chances to get a win.

Like if the Bears don't go for it on fourth down and kick the FG and then make the other FG they miss, then they win this game. I'd still think Caleb played bad and McCarthy also played bad.

Or if Caleb just makes that easy throw to DJ on 4th down...

Caleb making that throw on 4th down probably changes the entire complexion of the game.
