Re: PG: Where Injuries in Meaningless Games Happen
All I gotta say, over half of the posters on the Knicks forum are complete fail.
including their bonehead of a mod TFK, what a terrible example to set for the board's tone.

Re: PG: Where Injuries in Meaningless Games Happen
We have 61 wins so I'm not even going to bring up the bad...
The good
Rose's dunks
Rose is not a point guard..not because he lacks the ability to create for others (how many open shots did they miss from his passes tonight?) but because pg's shouldnt be able to do this!

Boozers push in the back on Carter allowing him an offensive rebound and 3pt play
Deng/Watson
Taj's effort

If the Bulls do, you would be complaining to much to ever hear it.
NBA fan logic we need to trade one of two best players because (Player X) one needs to shine more.

someone should just start making youtube highlights of all the shots rose's teammates miss off of his passes. it would be satisfying just to throw that in people's faces that try to say he's not a "true"(hate that term) point guard or that he's an sg playing pg.

Re: PG: Where Injuries in Meaningless Games Happen
“He’s as tough as it gets as a matchup, very fast, explosive, his jump shot is a lot better and I think he is the MVP,” said Billups. “I’m happy and proud of him for a young kid like him to be playing on the level he’s playing on.”
“Rose is amazing. His athletic ability is ridiculous. He’s come farther, quicker, faster than anyone expected,” said D’Antoni. “He’s playing at a level that not many people play.”
From Sam Smith's column.
Seeing stuff like that and the tweets from Lowry and Durant about D-Rose's dunks last night, it really feels like the whole league has kind of adopted Derrick Rose. Of course, Chauncey kind of mentored him with Team USA, but Derrick has universal respect around the league.
Only guy that really opposes D-Rose is the disgruntled sourpuss Rondo.

I've never seen a fanbase so mad that the other team didn't concede the game. They were positively irate that Thibs had the gall to try and win the game.
Edit: Also, I thought this forum bitched too much about the refs. Holy crap, half the Knick fans truly believe that the entire NBA is conspiring against them. You know, because the last thing the NBA wants is success in the largest American market.

Re: PG: Where Injuries in Meaningless Games Happen
A few points:
1) It is easy to say this was a hollow win, but as a New York Bulls fan, I can tell you that the Knicks were playing extra hard tonight...there was definitely pride on the line and guys were up for the game. The way I could tell was that they were actually trying on defense. A good example of this was Korver's misses. Say what you want, but what I saw was that he got less space than he normally gets coming off screens.
2) It also reminded me why home court is important. When the Knicks made their run at the end of the 3rd, guys were hitting contested 3's...they don't make those on the road.
3) Rose's dunks were so beautiful to watch...Good to see them as #1 & #2 on ESPN's top plays!

Knicks fans, Pacers fans, Magic fans, they are still to be drinking from the same kool-aid cup.
I don't think it's a coincidence that those teams have the highest 3PtA in the Eastern Conf. Magic and NY are 1,2 in the entire NBA. Defensive, shmeefensive. It's about puttin' the biscuit in the basket.
And while the extended minutes by the starters seem unnecessary, I'm okay with it. Both Deng and Rose are thriving and Noah needs the work. He looked a little more active last night to me; appeared like there was some concerted effort on Noah or Thib's part for him to be more offensively aggressive.
NOTE: Bulls opponents who've scored 50 pts or more in the 1st half, average 55.6 pts. In the second half, they only average 41.1 pts.
TGibson (1/28/17); "..."a 4 or 5 on a scale of 1 to 10 for drama"...What's the worst? "...yelling matches with Thibs, everybody is just going crazy and I'm just sitting there...like, 'Don't call my name please..."

We beat Miami in Miami, but Heat Fans still say we're not that good.
We beat Boston badly at home, but no big deal.
We then beat Orlando twice in Orlando, but aren't that elite.
We beat New York in New York, but we're still not that good (even though in our two losses to them, we played without Boozer and Noah).
We don't get much respect on RealGM.
Not sure the actual league thinks the same.

Re: PG: Where Injuries in Meaningless Games Happen
The first 6 minutes of the second half is how babies are made.
Doesn't look like the JoNo injury was serious, he was at the scorer's table late I think. Hopefully Brewer's isn't either, I haven't read up on anything this morning.

Yeah that was strange... with under 2 minutes, maybe under1 left in the game?

Trust me before the Bulls drafted Rose TFK was a big Rose fan but since then the guy is always bashing Rose it called being a HATER. The Knicks forum no lying are mostly between 15-21 years old so they are still kids.

I'm hoping this stat is what we hang our hat on in the playoffs, because it means our coaching is extra solid and that's where things tilt in the post season.
In the regular season: Coaching is focused on your team's sets and schemes, but not as much about game planning for opponents. You just don't have the time to pour dozens of hours into film and counter punching when you play four opponents per week with one or two back-to-backs. Outcomes tilt toward talent.
In the post season: You do have time to also coach up your team based on your opponents vulnerabilities and counter punch their strengths. Also (especially by round 2), the talent gap is a lot closer than it is in the regular season on average. Outcomes tilt toward coaching.
If our in game adjustments are extra successful, that bodes well for us in the playoffs. Thibs is still a rookie as a head coach, but this is very promising.

Don't worry about the hater Knicks fans too much. They pull that stuff to purposely annoy Bulls fans, it couldn't get any more obvious.
The mod TKF is pretty ignorant though. Notice how he never responded to Cliff Levington's arguments in the Rose thread.

Amazing
Derrick Rose scored 26 points Tuesday, giving him more than 2,000 for the season. Rose is only the third player in the past 30 years to have 2,000 points and 600 assists in one season. LeBron James did it in 2009-10 and Michael Jordan did it in 1988-89.

Re: PG: Where Injuries in Meaningless Games Happen
(1) Rose's best dunk was the one where he just went straight up with it in the paint. That was gross.
(2) I didn't read the thread, but in case anyone is bitching about Brewer getting injured, even if Thibs had "rested" guys, Brewer wouldn't have been one of them. **** happens..
(3) You guys who are seemingly surprised at preposterous Knicks' fan opinions do realize that Knicks' fans are New Yorkers, right?
