I believe Rose, in what his aim and attempt will be. I also believe what Gar said; whatever Rose's ceiling is, he will reach it.

But don't think his ceiling is to be the absolute best in every facet of the game. I'd be happy to be wrong on that one.

i would be happy with him reaching 10 assists per game. and i believe he will achieve this

...thanks guys & our OP for a great thread.

Just like the good ole days, read 13 pages, don't even need to post.

That being said, seems like what we've come up with is that Jo needs to be a threat with that jumper, which I personally think is starting and will continue to improve. (we are afterall only 2 games into a short preseason season I keep reminding myself)

The other point is that I think we'll see Booz passing to a cutting Jo as we progress further in our use of Booz/Rose PnR.

Those are some good points. I don't think its too subtle how hesitant Noah looks on those jump shots every time he is open for one.

He's lucky Russell Westbrook isn't captaining this team. Thabo got an earful for hesitating last night.

One more thing: Noah has to be fast on PNR like here(I mean he is the fastest center)

Noah has some potential on the PNR imo like you point out here. That is a good example of what he can do. I bet in the next few weeks we are going to see Rip and Noah killing it on the baseline PNR off of Rip running around screens.

Yes, Noah can be good on the PNR, he puts effective screens and he is fast to the basket.
The problem, I think, is when he's not involved directly on offense. He looks lost and can be detrimental to the play, especially when boozer has the ball. Trying too much, hesitating between going for the rebound or staying at his tornado spot, he's not appearing like a menace for his defender.
Does he just need more confidence on his jump shot ? Does he need to calm down a little and understand the plays better ?

yessir

i have been calling out noah for being undisciplined bball player for quiet a while. he seems to always follow his instinct instead being smart and limiting himself for the good of his teammates. it worked great before, but i think its time for him to make some adjustments to his game.

he is way too out of control right now trying to do everything on the floor. and he has made himself look even worse by doing this. for this booz/noah front court to work, they each have make some sacrifices

I wish I shared your confidence in Noah's jumper. It just has never ever been there as a respectable consistent weapon. Not even close. I love seeing him hit a couple here and there, but it inevitably fades and disappears.

He's come a long way with his free throws though, so maybe there is hope. But, aside from occasionally surprising the pants off everyone with a jumper here and there, I don't think his jumper will ever be viewed as a strength.

And because the rookie scouting report says he can't shoot, he's going to have to start killing people with it to make them respect it. More than one or two makes for a brief peiod in a game. And I just don't think he can do it, in the same way that Boozer is never going to be a good defender. Just not in the cards. Hope he proves me wrong, though.

That is the Problem. What makes him good on the Boards is hurts him in other parts of his game..

He runs around like a Spazz on 10 Red Bulls & is never in control of himself....

Maybe Joakim should cut the Pre-workout/Caffeine drink before game??

I think with the increase frequecny of games being played I think a team like the bulls will benefit. I need a larger sample size some of these guys haven't played team ball since the lock out. eg. ROSE

However you made good points. Overall our offense has a different feel to it than last year. Which could be another reason why we are struggling.

If the Bulls do, you would be complaining to much to ever hear it.

NBA fan logic we need to trade one of two best players because (Player X) one needs to shine more.

From a very basic viewpoint, Noah/Boozer is a great frontcourt on paper. One guys brings defense, energy and hustle, and doesn't need plays run for him to be effective. The other guy brings offense and finesse. Both are strong rebounders.

In reality, it's becoming obvious that they make each other's job harder. I'm just hoping that more injury-free time on the court together will help them figure out how to complement each other. Harsh as it may be, they sure as hell don't make each other better, and that's shocking for me considering how optimistic I was about this front court last year.

Yeah they dont really complement each other as much as I thought on paper. But I think we will be able to find ways for them to be better together they are both good passers and well that helps a lot

Oh I think so, too. There just have to be adjustments made. It's not the natural fit that it appeared to be, though. But there is too much talent there for them not to find a way to each play well at the same time.

IMO 3 things will help this PnR.

1- Boozer needs to actually use his body and seal Rose's man. Then we're looking @ a pg stuck behind Boozer, rather than a double on Rose. Slipping too much.

2- Rose has to come around the pick harder (needs to actually bang shoulders with Booz coming around) looking to attack the PF first then look for Booz.

3- One of Noah and Deng need to slash from the opposite corner as Rose comes across or Boozer is coming into the lane.

Pretty basic stuff but these are the little things that make the PnR. If you don't understand what I mean here it from this guy...

To quote GetSeven
With Jimmy at the 2 spot this lineup (along with depth) has the potential to be the best since the Jordan/Pippen days easy.

Don't work to much more on posting in this thread. I got some new video, and I will start a new thread when it is done because it expands so significantly on this thread's original basis; spacing isn't the problem. Uploading to Youtube is slow.

slipping the pick is the correct counter to the high hedge or quick double though.
derrick in that instance has 3 options: go away for the double, split the double before it forms completely or hit the roller. the 3rd option is exactly what the defense wants because it gets the ball out of rose's hands and turns someone else into the playmaker. why should boozer continue to try to set the pick if the defense is doubling high? he'd just add to the congestion.

I am locking this thread in lieu of it's better version here: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=1148426

I locked this because it would essentially be a duplicate thread of the one I just created. If you guys feel you really want this one reopened, let me know and I will unlock it.
